What do you guys think a 3" inlet 2.5" dual outlet muffler would sound like with the rest of the stock exhaust present. I want deep, not obnoxious loud, and a cheaper way to diy it. Heres a muffler I found on ebay
3" inch in 2 5" Out Exhaust Oval Dual Muffler | eBay
If that one is junk I found some Thrush mufflers for under $40
Was wanting to do dual exit behind the rear tires coming out the side.

Would going from 3" to 2.5" be too loud?

One of the picture is wrong for that muffler. Any straight through muffler should work good.

I think the cutout view is just of an offset lol. Not dual. Hopefully its deep. I may be young but I cant stand "machine gun" sounding exhaust lol. Aka loud and obnoxious.

Yes you'll want a single 3" in dual 2.5" out. I had a Maggie on my Ram initially as they were the crowd favourite at ramforumz.com, I was less then thrilled, it didn't have that 'throaty' sound I was looking for and was extremely tame. I ended up with a flowmaster 50 series HD and it sounds awesome. The cherry bomb extreme and some flo pro's sound great in my opinion. Exhaust is all opinion, what i like might not be what you like and vice verse. My advice is to get some decent head phones and go on YouTube and listen to various magnaflow length mufflers (14,18,22) flowmaster 10, 40, 44 and 50 series muffler, cherry bomb, dynomax, etc to find out what YOU like.

I'm a old guy and also don't like ratty sounding exhaust, I use a Magnaflow si/do 36" long muffler. It has been burned out from a hard tuning session and is louder than I really like. Funny I still get folks telling how they like the sound. It is reasonably quite going down the road with no drone but really explodes at wot. I live in the country and the wife says she can hear me make passes on a nearby road. lol

5.7 of make her wet liters
The larger the exhaust pipes, the deeper the tone and noise output. Just include that knowledge in your build

The shorter the muffler the louder right? The longer the less "rap" it has?
