You guys can hear it sucking in air? Did you go from the stock box to this one? My old afe setup was a lot louder than this one and you could hear it a lot more too. The vararam is quiet lol.

i believe it, i have rode in a ram with a vararam and then drove mine with the K&N 63 series and it was loud as ffffuk compared to the vararam.

I could, but the exhaust shop I go to is 20 min away and I dont want to drive it that far on nothin but wide open headers to get everythin welded and moved around.... and it's $65 to tow it there.... so I was just goin to get the bf to drive my truck over there on that mornin w/ everythin and let the exhaust shop do it. They installed his headers on his old Z71 and did a good job and only charged like $170 for a lot of work. We'll see what happens tho, gonna get it done sometime next week maybe if I dont buy these Caltracs hahaha

I'll have to ask around here to see the prices. May just end up taking it somewhere depending on when it comes in.

How are you supposed to install this thing with clamps? Lol. Am I missing something? It doesn't slide over the original piping.

New dilemma. To open and close the cutout, the power has to be reversed. How can I hard wire this to a switch in the cab to make it work?

this is just me but i believe all you would need to do is get a relay, connect the positive to the battery with the relay and the negative make a ground? and throw in a switch?

what do you mean it has to be reversed?

George hardwired a raceland. I can't remember what type of switch he used though!

Well, if I recall correctly my old DMH cutout used a momentary On-Off-On switch, you dont want one that toggles as you do not want it to stay powered one way or the other or it can fry the motor. With the raceland, I believe its a little more dificult as the motor only has 2 wires going to it and the rest are wired in the brain box. I know the DMH had 4 wires ran to the unit, One power, One ground, and the other two were for the open/close function. The raceland does not have those wires (visible at least).

Here is the one off the DMH:

I meant basically, to open, one has to be on positive and one on negative. To close, you have to swap which one their on.

Going to try some stuff in the morning and see if I can figure it out, unless I get a reply from someone that's done a raceland. Lol.
