The new ballasts have external ignitors, and from what I've seen, its just too long to fit.

What gets me.....since I made the video (not too long ago either.......) so much has changed.....guess its time to redo the vid...

Yeah I could just barely fit everything but the ballast in. So I have maybe a inch or 2 of exposed wiring than the ballast sticking out.

well got them in there..holy crap its tight. not very happy with how stuffed it is in there.

right side seems to flicker a lil bit when i turn them on. i had a problem with the clips that go from hid bulb had too remove 2 of them and just use silicone to make it watertight.

ill never do this again thats for sure.im sure down the road im going to have issues inside the projectors.

got my fogs in too.

What's the deal with the new ballasts anyways?

Are they supposed to be more durable?

I got mine all stuffed in there too somehow lol. And my dust caps are flush. I was wondering about the new ballasts too. What's the deal, Jeremy? Are they better ballasts or what?

I tried and tried with the 55w ballast and couldn't find a way to get it in. I don't know if there is a big difference between the 35w and 55w.

Please do. Or you'll have to deal with me again when I order fogs and headlights haha

Continuous improvement. Its the one thing I absolutely love about working with the guys at The Retrofit Source. In less than 2 years....I think we are on the 4th version of ballasts. Had a few blips, nothing crazy, and they've always had my back and made any warranty claims simple. But, in the end - always looking for a way to get them closer and closer to OEM.

I have the new XB 55w Ballasts and Canbus in my headlights. It took a bit of Tetris, but I was able to do it.

I have the kit contains:
2 x HID 35W bulbs
2 x 50W ballasts
2 x AMP connectors
2 x canbus adoptors

I was able to put them all in but I removed the bulb retaining ring, put all in, then reinstalled the ring.
I still have to so the driver side.

So far, I managed to break the passenger side lower grille retainer clip. I have to come up with something.

so what's the general consensus? Is it just going to be easier to hang the wires under the dust cover and mount the ballasts elsewhere?
