Been thinking about doing a lift in my 13' for a while now but my experience is definitely not in lifting vehicles lol. I know I would like to do a suspension lift, what kits would you all recommend that are pretty much complete kits? As for height, I'm going back and forth between a 4" and 6". The "limiting" factor at the moment is the parking garage at my office which is 7'-2". As for wheels and tires, at the moment I am running the stock 20's and with a 275/60/20 tire but will be swapping those out for something a little bigger/more aggressive later on. Guess what I'm getting at is for those of you who have a 4-6" lift and 33-35" tires, what's your overall height? And do the wheels and tires look like roller skates if you kept a stock-ish size wheel/tire on it?

Any tips/information would definitely be appreciated

You won't fit under 7'2" with either lift with 35" tires. I have a 4" with 35" tires and don't have a prayer to get under my 7 foot door, so I can't see making 7'2". In terms of good lifts...Superlift with Bilstein 5100's, Zone with Bilstein 5100's, and BDS with Fox 2.0's. All are good, just depends on your budget. I wouldn't do anything less than a 35" tire on either lift, and to be honest I think a 35" looks kinda small on a 6" lifted truck, I prefer 37".

So how tall is your truck?

Just trying to figure out how tall I'd be looking

I haven't gotten a good measurement, but it looked like it was 7'4". I don't have a great way to measure since my measuring tape has a crease at the 5" mark that makes it flex...so it could be 7'2"-7'4", but don't quote me on either since it could be even taller. I just know for sure with 4-6" and 35" you more than likely won't make it. You also have to think about the antenna or whatever it is mounted on the roof...that adds an inch, or if you have a shark fin that'll add about 3".

I did a search on here about height and people are saying they had a 6" lift and the truck was under 7' by 1/4 of an inch. I guess I need to find a better way to measure my truck since how I'm doing it is showing it to be waaaay taller than it sounds like it should be. I think this is another question that needs to be answered by someone who has used a proven method of measuring besides my hold the tape up and eyeball haha. It sounds like you could do a 4" and 35" tires if the other thread was correct. Hopefully someone answers this since I'd like to know as well. I'm now thinking I might be able to get mine in my garage if it is under 6'11" tall.

That's a tight fit lol alright good to know. I'll have to do a bit more digging then to see how tall it would put the truck.

I'm going to recruit a neighbor later today to help me measure. I think I'll take a piece of 2x4 and hold it level on the highest point of the roof and have him measure from below. I'll let ya know what I find out about a 4" with 35" tires.

I have a 6" lift with bilsteins in the front maxed with 35" tires and I fit in our garage with a 7' door. It clears by roughly an inch or so. The approach angle is a slight incline into the garage, so that may play a role in making it into the garage.

So we measured and it looks like it's 6'9.5" tall. I pulled 50% of the cab under my 7' garage door, only stopped due to stuff being in the way and not wanting to hit the piece on the door opener that connects motor to the door.

Yup still around. Not as active as I was back in the day but I still lurk around here and there.

I'm going to jump in here. I've got a 6" Zone suspension lift (with 5" rear coils), 1.5" Zone body lift with 37's. The back of my cab which would be one of my higher points (except for the clearance lights) is at 7' 0.5" tall. Earlier in this thread I was dumb founded at the claim of 7'2" on 4" suspension and 35's. LOL! So, I HAD to go measure.

Anyway, back to the OP;

If you are absolutely concerned about the parking garage, I'd go with a 4" suspension lift and some 35's or maybe even some 33's if you're that concerned about height. I have Zone products and I really like them. I originally was looking into RCX (Rough Country) but switched due to some great input from the members on this site and I'm glad I did. So, depending on your budget, I'd go after BDS or Zone for the lift and definitely go with Bilstein 5100's up front. Hope this helps!

As I said, I was eyeballing it and the measuring tape has a crease that flexes so I didn't get a good measurement haha. Definitely was awesome to find out it was way shorter and can fit in my garage! Now I can have the guy doing my paint correction come anytime.

I have a black plastic box that is about 2" tall, I'm guessing it's the Sirius antenna or something to do with the keyless entry.

LOL! I read that and was like... Whhhhaaaaa???? :roflsquared: But still, you're sayin you're at 6' 9.5" which I can't get over. I have 2" extra lift, 2" extra on the tire's and 1.5" of body lift. I can't see how I'm only 3" taller than you when I should be 5.5" taller. LOL! Not that it really matters, I'm just curious.

I edited that as you responded...I have a 2" tall black plastic box that could be the Sirius antenna or something for the keyless entry

Probably your Sirius box. I have one too but don't think it's 2" tall. Maybe 3/4".
