Anybody upgraded to a Melling high volume oil pump?

Reason I'm asking is I plan to upgrade to one, the concern I'm having is clearance issues with the stock oil pan, I read somewhere that it may require modification...... :naughty:

Never upgraded mine, but can you comment on whether it's an upgrade worth the trouble?

I didn't end up taking the risk , every retailer where I looked, thier computers said check pan clearance , so I went with OEM to be safe not sorry lol.... didn't feel like messing up my freshly painted oil pan

I don't blame you man. I just finished replacing my pan. When my steering gear failed, I shifted the pan by about 3/16 of an inch. Was wondering if it would have been a beneficial mod or not.

I upgraded to a HV in my mom's second gen. At 150K she had clogged up her second oem pump so I put the melling HV in and never looked back. It was still in at 315K when she sold it. It was a 2wd, not sure If that would make a difference.

That's where my problem started Ram digger. A small leak turned into the pitman shaft popping out or breaking off and sending my ass into a ditch lol
