Likely. When I was playing with the truck earlier today, the accelerator squirters are both working properly now. Yet I still have an off idle bog. Even with the manifold vacuum, but when the truck is hot. I mean like 200*, it runs like a dream with no bog.

Oh yeah, in other news, I figured out why my 76 was so angry sounding at 75 mph...hehe.

47 automatic RPM table

And that's with 245's...it was pissed at me with 265's.

Set it back to ported vacuum and the idle obviously dropped and the putt putt went away. Weird. Imma be driving it here in a minute, so we'll see how it does.

So I went and bought a spring for the transmission lever on the carb....too short.
Fair enough, I go steal a t-post tie off the fence and make it fit. Only problem is this, well, two problems. 1: if I make it too tight, the throttle gets stuck open. 2: if I make it too loose, the lever doesn't return.

Problem number one made for an interesting exit....I was fighting the throttle with the brakes. lol Had to drop the truck into neutral and pop the throttle to get it to reset.

Throttle feels amazing with the trans. spring on it, too bad it makes the shifts perceptible and the throttle dangerous. :D

I'll mess with that more next week, gotta do stuff for work now.

Did sanding on the driver's front fender today. Knew it was going to be bad, but not uber bad. lol Every time I tried to "blend" the bondo dents out, I'd grind into another crack. So I'd have to grind that out and blend it...only to find another. Well, we all know how that works:

What I started with:

What I ended the day with:

Can't see 'em right now...but you will:

This bothers me:

All down the wheel well:

This is gonna be a pain to prime properly:

That's all for now. Going to go get a couple cans of filler primer tomorrow and either automotive enamel or appliance epoxy. Even though I've got most of a can of automotive, I'm learning toward the appliance due to the fact that it looks great without sanding.

No major rust issues, just lots of dents everywhere. The top of the fender was dented too, didn't take a picture as my camera was dying. I think something fell on it (tree) at one point. If I had the money I'd just replace the entire fender. It would fix everything. lol

i don't worry about hiding dents and dings. i just try keeping on top of the rust. leave the dents and dings until i can afford to fix it properly.

True. I think I've blended them well enough. Going to have to take the grille off to get to the fender the way I need to.

Thought about that. In theory it wouldn't be too hard....but considering how most everything else goes on this truck.

And I just realized we have the same bumper. lol

Make sure you blast out that palm sander real good with compressed air every once in a while. All the **** you sand off builds up in it. You'll prolong it's life considerably.

Also, don't just go priming those rust spots, unless you want them to continue to grow.
Take care of em. Get rid of the surface rust, treat the metal and seal it properly.

only 6 bolts holding it on. since you live where rust is not such an issue you should have no issue taking it off.

bumpers are the same except yours is in better shape. mine had 1 ding in it when i got it and i just put another dent in it not that long ago.

The only rust areas are the one on the top of the fender and the one on the bottom. Sanded all the others out already.

Might pick up a can of air while at the walmart tomorrow. :roflsquared:

In theory. But if the shocks are any indication of what the bumper will be like.....:superhack:

i don't think they will be that bad. if all else fails you cut them and replace them. i guess you just have to take a look and give it a shot.
