My beloved 1.5 year old 2015 Ram Tradesman (I bought used May 2017) was just totaled in a rear-end collision :( I am looking to replace it with something in the $25K to $26K range. I am seeing a lot of 2015 and 16 1500 "Expresses" in this range with decent mileage (looking to stay under 40K if I can) so far in my on-line searching. Other than the obvious change from an 8 cylinder to a 6 (which I can live with, at most I will haul a small fishing boat), any other differences I should be aware/cautious of? I want 4WD, Rear-view camera and a tow hitch. I noticed the rear view screen is in the rear view mirror on the 2016 Express. Any other differences (Tradesman vs Express, 2015 vs 2016) I should watch out for? I've just started my journey, but have around 2 weeks to find something. Any suggestions anyone has are most welcome. Thanks for any help!

Bighorns are usually optioned well. You should be able to find a nice one with low mileage in your price range.

Also, sorry to hear about your truck.

express adds body color bumpers, but deletes tow hitch and bedliner in the 2017. Guessing the same for prior years.

That depends on how dealer ordered it. My 17 express came with hitch. As far as bedliner I would choose to have that done locally.

Thanks for the condolences. I think I'm still in shock but hoping the search for a new one will be therapeutic. Yeah I've seen a few Bighorns, I'll take a good look at them. Thanks Hunter.

Thanks Neil and Red Line. I've seen a few Expresses, some with and some without hitches so I assume it's an option some have added (same with bed liners which I'd probably add later anyway).

Thanks to you both!

Keep an eye out for the outdoorsman models too.. They come with the hitch and 3.92s standard. Plus they are optioned pretty well.

Thanks Shadowhawk! Yeah my wife remarked "Thank God we were in your truck, would have been a whole lot worse in anything else."

I paid $25.5 for my 2016 Outdoorsman with 17k miles, Hemi, 4X4 Crew Cab and 6'4" bed in June 2017. Only thing it didn't have is the back up camera and CD player.

Yeah Random_Walk, I think, after looking long and hard the last few days, that a Sportsman is what I want. Just need to find the right one. The feature set: rear coil springs, heavy-duty front suspension components and extra-heavy-duty shock absorbers in back, Anti-Spin rear differential, and better tires, power adjustable seat etc. are a great combo that is hard to beat in the price range I have been seeing (I'm not an off-roader, but these things will really help pulling a fishing boat and launching in a lot of different launch-ramp conditions). Just need to find the right one. And if I can find one in my fave color "Maximum Steel" I'll be on it, but I'll settle for a different color in the right truck. Fingers crossed!!
