Oddly enough over the course of an oil change interval I see no noticable oil usage .

I think this is mainly due to when I change my oil and verify I'm at the top of the " safe " level the oil is room temperature about 70 -80° ; however , when I check my oil while getting gas or when I'm changing the oil just prior to the draining the oil is much hotter and expanded due to being hot as I've always seem to just have been driving prior to checking the level ....

Either way over 5 -6k oci I'm probably only dumping about 12 -16 oz of oil , so not a lot in terms of the 7 qt capacity.

Hope this helps

Same here, never been lower than the top of the safe zone on the dipstick at the end of an oil run

Keep in mind that the levels shown in the dump photos also contain various levels of condensation in addition to the oil and the amounts being dumped between oil changes is such a small amount it would not be noticeable on the dipstick level.

Where did you guys get you're cans from? Been looking at a million of them from $30 to over $600. I know don't want the $30 one or the $600 one. Looking for at least a decent one that I don't have to mortgage the house for.

Moe's performance. They're a vendor in here and Matt is awesome. Mine was $140 but it's high quality and a simple bolt on

Thanks hemi, that's the price range I'm looking for. I had googled Moe's and all I got was Moe's grill.

Thanks RLK, I've checked out the billet tech one, looks really clean and simple. Just starting to look at them.

That's actually a good thing

I finally got off my lazy **** and went to the garage that installed my long tubes c.a.i (Vararam) and a Billet cc. As far as the cc goes it was basically empty with 3000+ miles, I will estimate that 95% of the 3000 miles are highway miles. The same thing happened with my last truck (Sport rcsb) so I am assuming highway miles mean less oz compared to city miles???? Is my statement full of it or:crazy:

Yeah the engine doesn't pull as much vacuum at higher speeds.

I have the UPR catch can. I'm pretty sure I paid like $125 a couple years ago. It looks very similar to the BT one, which if my memory serves me right, the two companies are very near to each other. There's history between UPR and BT and not the good kind...lol.

After reading this entire 48 page post as well as doing some other research I am sold. I forgot how my old cars had a breather element to vent into the air. Now I just need to go out and buy one. Thanks everyone

I've always heard that but with my Ram 5.7L & my wife's Challenger 5.7L
they both vent much more with highway miles ?
I'm on a long road trip now & I'll be dumping the can when I get home in 2 weeks ...

I like to get as much info as possible before making any add on's or mods . I value you're guys opinions very highly but thought I'd get some info from the street too. Well, it was actually pretty sad. I ask 2 so called professional mechanics what they thought about catch cans. Both of them said " what's that" . After I explained what they were and what they did they said " so what's the point" . I quickly realized this was a fruitless endeavour. I've known both these guys for a couple of years and thought they had their **** together. I guess you know where I won't be going to get any work done.
