Ol Girl build

I just figured out I never did a build thread of the ol' economy truck.

New:
04 Ram 1500 RCSB 4x4, 3.92, power everything, sun roof (added by local shop before I bought the truck), leather seats also done by the shop, bed rails, side steps, fender flares

Afternoon I brought it home



1st year:
Window tint 35% on sides and 5% on back
K&N 77 series intake
Hypertec tuner ( ended up frying my PCM)
Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 SI/DO
Stick on hood and laid on stripes
Replaced stick on with OEM SRT
Got the stripes sprayed on

Left it alone for awhile then decided I wanted to cam it. First time around 6.1 cam reground by Stu at Inertia Motorsports. During that time I picked up my Fastman ported TB. Ran a SCT tuner through Sean. A/F wideband through AEM.

First cam swap:





Ran the truck for a year that way and popped #3 piston racing in the sand.



Replaced the piston and rod with a new one and slipped in a Crazy Spartan from Stu on a 112 LSA. Ran SCT tune through Sean and added a AI meter. Put on a Magnaflow Y pipe.

Test and tune at local track

That lasted me another year till I tossed 2 rods... yay me. Sad thing is happened in the sand again.







Hooked up with King Motorsports and grabbed an 06 5.7 out of a very low mile 300C. Tossed on a set of PWR heads, Pacesetter Longtubes, reused my Crazy Spartan, 6.1 injectors, ORY, Full Boar single chamber muffler dumped. Dave from EFI Spec doing my tuning with a DSP.







Loaded up to go to the dyno:

Thanks Danny. Hope to do more to it but its on the back burner at the moment. Im at a point with it that me and it know exactly what its doing and it holds its own with what I ask of it. My concearn is next round of mods is gonna hurt it being used as a truck or being able to toss the keys to the wife or anyone and knowing its gonna be safe for them to drive in traffic.

Zack its made a total of 10 passes since the new motor in the sand. Its not gonna see it much anymore. Running 4lo runs the rpm's up so fast with those heads 1st is almost not there and second is quick to. It hits the limiter crossing the traps.

Exactly, My wife Hates the Shifter when its cold cause sometimes the park "Square" that lights up on he dash won't engage so it won't start but is actually pauled in park and she had limpe mode driving it once. Been better since new Cam and in spring will adjust shifter cable but I hear ya she def doesn't like driving it, thank god I bought her a Jeep for independance!

Main reason for my Truck now is to safely tow the trailer for those weekend getaways!

That thing sounds good. What did it put down on the dyno?

ATXHEMI not real high but we were not going for a number just my a/f levels. At the wheels it was just under 350. A verter would help drivetrain loss alot and free up the crank HP its making.

Danny my wife loves driving the truck, hell she did for a month when her 05 was getting redone. Dry roads are fine but wet takes some doing on those nittos terra grapplers at the moment. My conearn is it walking the ass end around because I have done it in an open parking lot goofing off but her in traffic.

Your gears and verter makes up the difference my motor makes. Riding in Greg's 03 done up was very close to mine in the seat of pants feel.
