RA3 8.4 questions

So the four connections on the back of the unit are what? white antenna, yellowish (lol) gps and xm, pink? purple? Also is it true that if my truck did not come equipped with this radio that you can never use the cellular function built in to it?

The yellowish one's color is actually officially called "curry". The silly things I know.....

Anyway, I'm curious about the UConnect access part too. With the radio and the antenna I would think it would be ok hardware wise, but Chrysler might not let you sign up for service on it.

You are correct as of right now Chrysler will not allow Uconnect subscriptions on trucks that were not originally equiped with the RA3 or RA4

Chrysler has a long history of not supporting swapping in factory options. Something like this doesn't entirely surprise me, because they don't want to deal with people complaining when it doesn't work right or having somebody screw it up so it repeatedly dials 911 by itself. lol

It is also to get people into higher trim packages out the gate.

That stuff should all work. The problem is with the UConnect Access portion that uses the built-in cellular modem and requires a subscription. So, you won't have things like the ability to lock your doors from your phone.

Yep, called them today and he said even if I get cellular reception he most likely will not be able to do anything, he said he gets tons of calls for this

If/when you do the swap sxm will want a 15$ swap fee. When they tell you that tell them you want to cancel. They will waive the fee
