5.7 hemi
I have a 2007 Ram 1500 w/a 5.7 Hemi. I blew the motor the other week and got a new 5.7 from a local salvage yard. I am looking at the engine compartment and notice that the motor is set pretty far back. Will I have to pull the cab in order to get the motor out, or is there another way to pull the old motor? Or will it just slide out without any troubles? And advice is appreciated.

I haven't pulled the block out of mine but with the radiator and inner fenders removed and the hood I don't see where it would be that big of a problem.

Should be easy, heck I swapped out the hemi in my magnum all by my lonesome and thats a much tighter fit on the sides and rear than the Ram to access fasteners. You will want to remove the top cross beam in front öf the rad that way you will not max out the lift height of a DIY sized cherry-picker. Also I recommend the use of a good engine leveler apparatis as it comes with 4 point chain assy and will assist in lining up/lowering in the new mill, plenty of fastener threaded holes on the block to work with, Motor weighs roughly 560 lbs. I should have removed the hood when I pulled mine. It came out fine but getting it at the right angle when lining it back up with the trans would have been much easier with 6 more inches of chain between the leveler and cherry-picker.
