i checked them out and they look brighter as well as whiter. How much were they at Pepboys? and I guess they just are a straight light change?

They were $59.99 for the H/L He did not have the fog light in stock, but it may have been 49.99 for that one - or 59 too. Not sure. yes they were plug and play standard sized replacements for our bulbs. - BUT...

My question is how do 4GEN headlight assemblies do with with this style of bulb replacement? I noticed that the factory LBeam has that hood/reflector thing on the bulb to reflect the light back into the assembly and then outward. That's why we have such POOR light dispersion. Have any of you guys just picked up the H11 & 9005 bulb sets and dropped them into the sockets... and are you happy with the results over stock?

I tried some of the other Silverstar series bulbs when I first got my truck because yes, the light output from factory is just a step above a candlelight, but it wasn't too much of an improvement. That's when I decided to breakdown and buy some JJ lights. Not afraid to drive at night anymore :)

If you get them keep us posted. They might be worthwhile for the fogs

Wow! Had no idea....

I retract my statement.

You all have me on eBay researching HID's now.

Thanks.

Exactly the same thing I did too. JJ retros are 100% better. Well worth the money.

Personally for looks, I'm saving up for jj's lights. They look badass and you won't have other drivers pissed at you for dropping hids in non projector housings.

I am running Recon Diamond White XENON Headlight Bulbs - Color Temperature 4,600 Kelvin. They are a lot better than stock. I was able to get all three sets for $100 shipped.

So you're saying instead of $120 bulbs, get 700 headlights, then some HID's to fit em with? If only I had the extra 800 dollars...

You don't need 7-800 to get a set of lights. Do some sets go that high? Sure, with some paint, new headlight housings, 55W sets, matching fogs, etc - it all adds up!

In the end, I think Matt was saying that spending $120 for bulbs is not the best bang for your buck. Sure, the buck will be higher to get a full retrofitted set, but in the end the light output will flat out blow away any halogen setup.
