Gena's shipped has sailed, we were lucky enough to get two go rounds, pretty incredible imo. Do a little research and choose an oil that has better distribution. Penzoil platinum is very similar to PUP, just has less detergent and doesn't come in the super oil 0w40.

Damn, figured as much but an email didnt cost me too many grey hairs. I see the high moly content (something I am new to understanding, if you can call it that) is what I should be aiming for. The Pennzoil platinum is readily available for like $23 a jug at Walmart and $43 at AZ/oreilly/and Napa.

I looked at that pic you (I believe) posted about the additives and moly content of the different oils but cant remember how this compared to M1, i know RP had nothing anymore so I will not be using it again most likely. I have maybe a quart or two left over and assume its fine to mix since its the same weight but please correct me if I am wrong

I can officially say that TCW3 at 2oz per 10 gallons as suggested from the original LS1 forum works as described. There is one exception to my case as I mix my TCW3 50/50 with MMO.

My wife has run over 5 tanks of gas with my mixture through her 2007 Ford explore with the 4.0 V6 and 93,000 miles. Just checked today and her gas mileage average has gone up over 1 MPG.

I have been using it in my truck when it was brand-new so I assume it has to be helping with it to.

So what do i do with my 6 quarts if PUP 0w40. I use amsoil now in my truck and my wifes and am not fond of jumping back and forth from amsoil to PUP and back to amsoil just to use it up.

The only thing i can think of is to put it in my Zero Turn, but it has a v-twin briggs and stratton with a flat tappet and im not sure that oil will work well for a flat tappet engine.

Think its safe in the zero turn? They call for sae30 or 10w30 or 10w40. Completly different that the PUP.

If 10W -40 is approved in the zero turn then the 0W-40 PUP will work fine imo

I was always under the impression that you want an oil with high zinc for a flat tappet engine so i have always used diesel oils.

Is this right?

In all my lawn / garden / generac gen ---->Nothing but RTS T6 5W-40!

If I remember right T5 10W-30 has a good amount of ZDDP!

I have & always will add TCW3 (Pennzoil Marine) XLF @640:1.

---------------------------------------------------------
When I was 10 & began mowing yards to earn summer $$. Also having to mow my family's & grandmothers yard! I bet I put at least 5 hours of use on my mower every day except Sundays!
I remember quite clearly Dad showing me how to change oil -->1 Time as well as cleaning the air filter. Dad always kept a case of Quaker State 10W-40 in the garage cabinet. If I recall dad had me change the oil & clean the air filter @ the first of every month. I guess to begin teaching me the madness of Preventive Maintenance. (He Succeeded)!

Oh I still wish I had that Red/White Snapper! Every thing was Metal! Only thing that was not was the tires & plastic clip that held the back of the bag together & the pull string! (Built to Last)!
Quite different from the POS plastic Mess they produce now. (Which I own). ---->They now produce disposable mowers!
My new Snapper is just like the one below:--->Motor is a decent 7.75 Briggs (Professional). The body/deck is junk.
The motor really seems to like 2oz Liqui Moly MoS2 with every OC.

Still have a Qt of M1 Racing 0W-30 waiting to be poured in! Incredible additive package. But it is a racing oil

I use Amsoil 10-30 small engine in my Briggs and my Kohler. The Kohler has a million hours on it.

Okay, not a million.....

I've been using my extra Redline oil (30 & 40 wt ) in my tillers and lawn mowers / yard tractors for a long time ( 20 years give or take ) I should mention this equipment was already serviced with Redline oil to begin with .

As far as the 6ea 0W -40 PUP goes I'm sure someone here will gladly take them off your hands for a reduced price since it's so hard to come by

I prefer the 20-820 RP oil filter, it's a lot bigger. But I'm in a 2013. Not sure why they went to the smaller 10-48 in 2014.

i believe the switch to electric steering reduced the space available for the filter causing the filter to be downsized.

I've heard this before ;however , I have a 14 with electronic steering and I have room for the larger filter , the electronic steering actuator is very much out of the way probably 4-6" out of the way.

Take all this in with a grain of salt!

Some posts are redundant & non intelligent!

I do agree today's companies are getting smart and creating additives & super base oils that a Cheap VOA can't detect!
Only a trend of very calculated UOA will show how well this oil is put together!

We might not ever know the so called secret ingredients but we will be able to see how well this oil performs.

An annual oil with that low of TBN? I promise you Mobil knows something the cheap VOA is not telling.

Some even refer this occurring within the PP / PUP (GTL) base oil.

Like I have stated Many Times those $27 VOA only tell 1/2 the story.

Low zinc and low tbn.... I agree UOAs with a full years use are necessary to see how quick the tbn goes down, wear metals, etc.

You need base to counter acid period end of story, as acid level climbs it eats base. Someone is telling me mobil 1 found a way to make their base number drop more slowly? I aint buying it. They say the oil wont break down, I am almost sure that would be something in the way of their viscosity improver, it doesn't address acid buildup. My bet is they upped the detergent and called it a long run oil. I am looking forward to seeing some uoa's in the next couple years, but I wouldn't even recommend that over some of their other oils that start at 11tbn for a long OCI.

how many guys on this thread with 6.4 Hemi's notice a slightly high oil level every time you put the required 7quarts in with oil and filter change?

It is JUST above the top hole on mine every time i change the oil. Its hard to put less in when it calls for 7quarts. I just hope the dipstic is off a little.

Is that with pre filling the filter or without?
Good call Hemi !

My 5.7 takes a smiggg less than 7 qts when I prefilled the RP 10-48 Filter
