Just curious, what are you getting for mileage with MDS disabled?

Hard to say with 19 year old son driving mostly.
Gas mileage has always been an issue with the 4 inch lift & 35 inch tires.
MDS never stayed on that much because of the above.
14 mpg would be the average which is not good but we have other vehicles to drive for gas mileage.

Glad you made it through this nightmare!

Worst thing to ever happen here, and it has indeed brought out the best in us all. Guys register your phones on nixle, and during fire season live with your cell phone on and next to your bed. Have a non battery home phone in your bedroom. It could be the difference in being burnt in fire or not. 100 year load, this fire burnt so fast you couldn't out run it.

Completed my first (since owned) oil change on my 2013 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4 . Used Redline oil after reading what others have said on this forum.

I must say I am VERY happy with the way the Hemi is running now as opposed to prior to the change. Its buttery smooth and feels like it could go like a bat outa hell...not to mention nice and quiet. I used a RP filter. Again, all this as recommended by other guys on this forum. This set up will now be the norm for my truck.

One question though guys...what kind of oil pressures are you Redline guys getting at startup and at operating temp? Mine seem to be looking on the low side - full 7 quarts in the truck....just curious.

What viscosity Redline did you go with?

thanks brother, hard to think we are safe, we still can't see anything from the smoke, but they seam to have a handle on it.

Does anyone know how the oil stays in the torque converter? Is it something like an hour glass tipped on it's side, or a valve or something? If you empty a tranny, would the fluid from the TC drip down eventually?

You could put some green headlights in it, that would look bad.

With Redline 5W-30 ....I get about 58 -59 psig on the high idle during a cold start up ...at 208 - 215° idle I get between 39 -42 psig , and at 65- 70 mph at oil temps above 195° I'm getting approx 54-57 psig ...

With 40 wt Redline just raise the psigs about 2 psi all around ...

Not sure what oil weight your wanting psi info on , but I'll say this :: I personally would not run a 20wt oil in a 5.7 L Hemi , as I believe it's tooooooo watery thin and we here have proven MANY MANY TIMES OVER the 30 & 40 wt oils ...to include the thicker viscous REDLINE oils have no issues with the MDSand only great results...

Hope this helps
