I got the 275-55-20 for the XL rating but I got mine total out the door with warranty for 800 bucks. This is of course for a very nice All Terrain Tire.
If City you can get cheaper. If she is mad because the price of new tires is high just explain getting p rated tires and smaller at that, will make the truck look limp and take away some capabilities hehe. Also, good tires are a necessity not an optional piece of equipment.
Was my wife happy we blew 800 bucks a few months ago? No but she knew I did my research and found the best tire I felt for my truck and got a killer deal. For our trucks, if we intend on towing have to be careful with going cheap. At the same time if it is just a daily driver with the occasional dresser in the bed then a lot of capability can be sacrificed. I just live in North Idaho so I like to play a little bit and have my 4 wheel drive work when I need it too especially in snow.
