Thinking of buying

There is a 04 ram quad cab 3500 diesel with 112,000 miles. it is a single wheele rear axle for sale near my home. From the pics. it looks to be in really good condition. The asking price is 19,999. It is at a dealership. Is this a fair price? Should I jump all over it?

That seems kinda reasonable, though i would always try and talk them down. What are some more of the details? Bed size? 4x4? auto or stick? how many owners?

What kind of shape is it in? That's fairly low mileage for a diesel. I recommend no one ever pay asking price, get them down at least $1500.

If its 4x4 get them to come off a little. If its 2wd a little more

a guy at my work just got a nice (leather, power everything,etc) 2008 Ram 2500 4x4 qcsb srw CTD with 79xxx miles for 25,000 after ttl. He did have to drive about 4 hours to get it. I think 19 is a little high though.

At dealers I like to try for 500 below asking OTD. So yours would be 19,500 OTD. He'll be coming down about 2k at that price

Truck is sold but have another one in my sites 06 190,000 4x4 quad cab slt getting tranny work done by a reputable shop with warrenty. He is asking 16,000. Tell me what you think and he is giving me a good deal on mine for trade. 04 ram 1500 4x4 quad cab slt off-roas package with 91,000 miles.

I've been kinda scared of the autos in a diesel... My dad has a 04 3500 with the 6 speed and it's great! Not a problem with it except having to replace the master cylinder which isn't that big a deal. With that said, if it is getting rebuilt then you might be alright but pulling a heavy load, it is better to control the shift with a load. Just from what I've heard in the past, i would go with a 6 speed before an auto but that's just me.
