This weekend I installed a "new to me" 26 gallon gas tank. This one doesn't have broken EVAP ports or a cracked filler neck, so that's good. Should be able to pass smog testing now when I need to renew the registration shortly (CA sucks).

Next up, new engine and transmission mounts. Then door seals, then sound deadening for the front half of the cab in time for the family camping trip this summer. Should maker for a more comfortable ride if I can get the windows tinted too.

Here is my latest project that I started yesterday. This is for a 2007 Ram 2500 with a 5.9/G56/4.10 combo that I scored about 6 months ago for only $7500. The motor had some blow-by on cylinder #1 so I decided to strip it down and see what was up. I found a broken compression ring in #1 due to too much carbon/soot build-up in the ring land.

What amazed me about this motor was how bad the rod and main bearings looked. They were terrible. Some of the worst I have seen come out of a running engine with good oil pressure and not a single engine noise.

This morning I did a coolant flush and fill with Mopar 50/50 coolant and Mopar 203 thermostat.
Installed a Mopar locking gas cap, Dee Zee tail gate assist and a new console cover.

How do you like that cover. I have debated it for a while.

Well the 4.56s have been broken in, no issues, no gear whine, and no change in gas mileage compared to the 3.55s (still stuck at 15 lol) but overall a great improvement for the 3.7

My drivers side hi beam was malfunctioning due to an error on my part, so I decided to go on and take advantage of the situation by adding some better RGB lights inside both. Have everything ordered and will get them put back together one of these days. Until then, rocking the old yellow stocker headlights lol

I’d like to replace the HIDs with LEDs, but I can’t find any h1 bulbs worth a hill of beans in these mini H1 projectors

I like it,it looks good and is washable.
Now when it is really hot out, my arm doesn't sweat and stick to the arm rest.
Also the pockets are great for the cell phone and what not.
That’s my current issue. I have to stick my cell phone between the jumper and the bottom of the jumper seat. It likes to go flying when I hit the brakes. Washable is a plus for me. I work construction so after work I am usually dirty. I hate having to clean the center console top of my 4th gen every week. I’d rather send it through the washer and be done.

Does 09-12 jump seats not have the 3 cupholders or any cubbies big enough for a phone in the dash?

I now have both lol

I usually just throw my phone into a cupholder and call it a day

They look just like your first picture. I have been trying to find one where it was them in the arm rest of the jumper. No luck.

If you can’t ever find one, you could possibly just swap on the top half of a late 4th gen jumpseat with the cupholders. On a 3rd gen its a 30 minute swap and I cant imagine itd be any more difficult on an early 4th gen

Ever since I put the 4th gen jumpseat in I’ve been spoiled, of course what I had before was a completely useless block of foam lol

It looks to be really easy, there is just nothing. I have looked in junk yards, Facebook market place, and even swap meets. I may have to just eat it and get one from eBay.

I decided about 6 months ago that when my latest condenser fan took a dump that it was time to ditch the stock setup and build my own. I originally modified the condenser fan shroud to accept a Spal 10" fan and I also put another Spal 10" fan in front of the condenser. This seemed to work fine until the Texas temps began to rise. The twin Spal fan setup was just unable to remove the heat from the condenser which was evident by watching the low side gauge on the manifold. I could spray water on the condenser and watch the low side pressure fall and the outlet temps at the vents would get colder.

So, I decided to modify the condenser fan shroud as well as the Spal fan itself. I took a 2017 Jeep Renegade radiator fan apart and robbed the motor from it because it is a great fan motor. Next, I took the Spal motor out and modified the fan housing the accept the Jeep Renegade motor. Then, I modified the actual fan blade itself to fit the Jeep Renegade motor while installed in the housing.

I took the factory condenser fan shroud and cut it down to move the fan closer to the condenser so it could draw more air through the fins. I then made an aluminum mount for the fan and it looks like this...

Dropped my cellphone between the seats while driving. Big ******* deal, i got it back when i stopped.

Where was I driving? Had the factory side steps pushed out 4" so swmbo can access the cab more easily, also to deter parking lot door bangersKIMG0256_01_BURST1000256_COVER.JPGKIMG0257_01_BURST1000257_COVER.JPGKIMG0258_02_BURST1000258.JPG

After installing my new condenser fan setup on Thursday and driving through the Texas heat and stop and go traffic my vent temps are about 8° colder at idle. This franken-fan that I put together is working quite well. Pretty happy with the results after some trial and error. Still looks good to me too.

Now I need to finish up the custom shroud tonight for the radiator and put my second franken-fan back in.

I understand the reason behind ditching Tapatalk, but man does it make it just a bit more difficult to get on here lol

Today I removed all the wiring for my oldheadlight RGB system since I’m redoing all my RGB stuff both inside and out. Not only are NeoPixel LEDs (or addressable LEDs) more capable, they’re a lot less of a pain to deal with since theres no bulky in-line drivers to deal with. Since I’m redoing just about EVERYTHING electrical wise I figured now is a good time to get all the wiring fixed up nice. Trying to track down a smaller 6x6x3ish box to fit a couple of fuse blocks, relays, and controllers into to keep everything nice and tidy. We’ll see how that goes
