What did you do to your Gen3 today?

I didnt get alot of pix but bodywork on the new bed is ready for primer and so that means i got started on the tailgate shaving...




Tailgate is further than the pix, the filler panel is cut, tailgate handle area has the paint in the area removed and is prepped for welding so we can bodywork it tomorrow...

Ill try and get more pix tomorrow when i get back on it but progress is being made, ill be glad to get this new dent free bed on the truck!

Bout ready to get a whole new bed, instead, myself. Whole damn truck has little dimples scattered here and there. To recondition it to perfect will be more than just the obvious stuff.

Speaking of the black truck, I spotted this the other day. What do you think of the solid grill? Could look good with some custom horns and/or lights behind it. Or a big fat intercooler. But I remember you saying you stopped chasing performance, so nvm, lol.

I wasnt a big fan of it, the bars are plastic and fat which made it feel really cheap so i removed it and shaved the OEM grill and went that route...

And just because i dont chase performance anymore doesn't mean i don't appreciate it, and intercooler would be beautiful behind a big mouth grill to show you have something that means business...

ill add that im always a fan of the lights behind the grill look personally

so far the only big mouth im a fan of really is the one i put on my red truck, just because it different and adds some style to it, but they dont make it for the 02-05 front end

That WOULD be bad. So, question. How does the tailgate open from the outside after it's "shaved"? Could you instead install a nicer looking handle?

It opens from the inside of the bed when shaved, the handle basically gets flipped to the inside...


And ill read & reply to our chat when i have more time

Got rear-ended on the way home last night! Stopped at a light. Does not look like too much damage, bumper and hitch are bent down some and paint is scratched up pretty good. Tail gate seems to be rattling on bumps. luckily she had insurance. Anything that I should make sure gets checked when I take it in? Have had the truck 3 only months. Bummer

Dang man sorry to hear, hopefully your ok. Since you were rear ended stopped you can take the truck wherever you want so my advice would be to research the top body shops around your area for sure. Take it to a quality shop and they won't let the truck go without going through everything. Hope all goes well. I'd inform them about the tailgate rattle and any other thing you can hear or feel and slide under the back to take a look

Definitely check frame, all your lights/wiring, as well as all the mounts for your suspension just to make sure the shock of the crash didn’t shear any bolts. Just make sure everything looks the way t should, and definitely have them look at stuff that is out of place.

Got backed into the other night. No damage to the truck destroyed the hatch on a Grand Caravan though. She was at fault. Got called a little while ago and they filed that I backed into them. So now I have to deal with all this drama.

I’m not concerned had a witness and cameras on parking lot. My truck has no damage at all no damage nothing. She was pulling out of a spot I was in the aisle.
