What years would you recommend for a 2nd gen?

99-01 2500.
98-02 because pretty much everything is better in them.
99-02 because.. well the headlight switch
99-01 because 01.5-02 did not have CAD front axles. Aka more wear on the front end and less mileage.
2500 because everything on a 2500 is better.

Myself, If I bought again I'd go 02 2500 with the 360 and auto. I ran the big trucks for over twenty years and I do not like shifting my pickup. I also like the Dana 60's and no CAD.

lack of funds keep me in the looking stage. But im ok if i look /study for a couple years. honestly if i can find one with a trans issue for 800 ill try to jump on that

Im going to go auto because my other car is a stick and my wife .... lets just say i dont want to hear any ******** about not being able to drive this vehicle.

what is CAD?

Center Axle Disconnect. CAD.
No two piece axle on the right front diff like the 94-01.
 
Top
