I know I say this to much but the only way I would ever do a 1500 swap was if it was for a 12 valve. (can you tell that is my favorite engine?) Like others said it is MUCH easier to buy a 2500 w/ CTD. If you have the time and resources to do the swap it would be amazing, just most people dont have the time to go w/o a truck for that long.
as to the rolling coal, I love rolling coal every now and then. Nothing like blacking out some ricer who has been on your ass for a few miles. But every time I go to the track and see a truck on EFI live and there is no smoke and he takes off it makes me want that. when you smoke that is just diesel coming out without being used to create power. when you first get the truck all you will want to do is smoke it though, I was doing that at first then my wallet told me to drive it like a normal person.
