Remember that feeling of putting your first mod on your truck???? I would love to know what people have done to their trucks first! So go ahead and list your first mod (or first few if you'd like) that you have done to your truck!!

Hopefully everyone will post and maybe some will find new ideas for their trucks!

PICTURES ARE A PLUS!!!

All mine have been extremely low-level, basic stuff (need to get a new sig pic to reflect these) :

Nerf bars
LED light strip under tailgate
Sylvania ZXE headlights/foglights
Stubby radio antenna to replace stock whip
Valve stem caps with RAM logo on heads
Touchscreen NAV/Bluetooth head being installed this week

Next week comes the leveling kit and then I'll assess the stock wheels and tires after that to see which way I want to go on that front.

First mod was the actual truck for me. Came from a tiny 4 cylinder car. I love my v8. So naturally a muffler was the first thing.

I did a few at one time , mainly because I wanted a back up camera .
My 14 Ram QC 4X4 came with the non touchscreen radio , so my " FIRST MOD " was multiple @ once .
1) OEM Backup camera kit .
2) RA25.0" touchscreen radio.
3)Mirror with microphones.
4)sterringwheel audio controls.

My first mod was replacing the pathetic "seal" on the 3rd brake light with weatherstrip. If you haven't done this, then I highly recommend you do. It's not a question of if your seal will fail, but when. Many people have had theirs fail within months of buying their brand new trucks. I didn't want to risk getting my back seat storage flooded, so I bought my truck, drove it home, and immediately replaced the seal within the first 15 minutes of having my truck at home.

My 2nd mod was running boards (same as Laramie's) because it's hard for me to get into and out of without them, lol.

My 3rd mod was putting rubber floor mats. Honestly, I like the look of the black carpet ones better, but the rubber is such better protection.

And 4th mod was replacing the chrome-clad wheels on my Big Horn with wheels from a Sport. The chrome-clads were just a bit too much chrome for me, the Sports look perfect to me.

This photo shows the running boards and wheels:

I used 3/4 in. x 5/16 in. high density rubber foam weatherstrip, which can be purchased at Home Depot:

Frost King E/O 3/4 in. x 5/16 in. x 10 ft. Black High Density Rubber Foam Weatherstrip Tape-R534H - The Home Depot

You'll notice the difference right away when you are putting your 3rd brake light back on because it's slightly harder to put on because it's thicker and better quality (not hard by any means, but you'll see what I mean when you do it). Just make sure you get all the old seal off before putting on the new weatherstrip.

thank you for this post. will be doing it soon now.

my best mod out of the few i have done so far is a toss up between the tonneau cover and HUGE mud flaps. https://www.huskyliners.com/Long-John-Mud-Flaps
I set them up identical to the trucks in their pictures. the "flare" out the wheel wells about 1.5 " and they hang down low enough that nothing can be thrown "inside/underneath" the rear bumper.

EDIT: i got the 15" x 36"

Are the Sylvania headlights and fogs the basic ones from advance? Was wondering how well they worked and also do you like the stubby antenna? was looking into that myself. thanks for posting!
