so...I love the look...but damn this thing vibrates like crazy and is driving me nutz!!! Now yes I used brackets from CJC Off Road made for a straight bar..but they advised it would work with no issues. Here's the problem...due to the curve of the light weight is centered and causes the light to rotate downwards constantly. I hate that!!! The problem is that these brackets only have one hole per side to mount the light..but the brackets that come with the light have grooves to keep it in place...the cjc brackets don't...plus there is a 1" gap on each side which I've filled with some rubber stoppers.

I'm not sure what to do here. I'm considering drilling 2 holes and putting bolts through and into the fins of the lightbar to help keep it in place which should work but probably won't look great.

The other problem is...the CJC OffRoad brackets are not strong enough. They mount into the door jams with 3 rivets per side. They are too thin of metal to really hold the weight of the lightbar without allowing rattle/movement.

I have to say I'm ready to rip this POS off my roof and mount it to my front bumper or do away with it all together.

I'm open to ideas or suggestions...but my recommendation would be to NOT do a roof mounted light bar.

I'd like to hear from others that have done this and your experiences if possible with ideas for solutions....before I crack! :superhack:

if you can see where the CJC logo is cut into the bracket...that part bangs against the roof of my truck. The metal is NOT thick enough or strong enough to stay in place. I'm thinking about trying to tuck something under each piece to keep it from banging against the roof...but the problem is the brackets are on the truck...so gonna be tough to get under them with anything that will stay or stick.

ya the wind noise I can live with..the rattling and banging on the roof I can't. It shakes so much my whole roof is moving...the rear view mirror shakes so badly on the highway I can hardly see out of it.

you could probably buy a small piece of auto hose and cut it in half the long way and slide it onto the top section of that mount on the top. As for it moving see if you could have some one throw one or two beads of weld on it real quick and touch it up with a dab or two of black paint. That is what I would do.

I would just have new brackets made at a machine shop that will be strong enough and do what you need them to do.

I don't have any issues with mine ratteling, it will work itself out of position after a while. The solution to that is to drill a hole on each side and insert a screw which will go between the fins and keep the light in position. < this is what I found as a solution anyways just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'd worry about the look of my tires tucked inside my flares first.

Funny that you posted this...as this is exactly what I did the other day. I also shimmed some rubber spacers in under the bracket and truck and that seems to have eliminated the rattle. So far so good...time will tell. The bolts into the fins really worked well. I also pinched the fins closed around the bolt to keep it from popping out. Thanks for the help guys!

They look very tucked in from the pics.

oh...must just be the angle. Without the flares they stick out a couple inches at least. They are flush with the fender flares pretty much now.

Sweet. Ya I definitely think you should get rid of that 42" and throw another 50 on.

You can just send the 42 my way since you won't need it anymore.

and remember I have 2 6" cubes flush mounted in my rear bumper...and I still have 2 more to install back there. :)
