so...I love the look...but damn this thing vibrates like crazy and is driving me nutz!!! Now yes I used brackets from CJC Off Road made for a straight bar..but they advised it would work with no issues. Here's the problem...due to the curve of the light weight is centered and causes the light to rotate downwards constantly. I hate that!!! The problem is that these brackets only have one hole per side to mount the light..but the brackets that come with the light have grooves to keep it in place...the cjc brackets don't...plus there is a 1" gap on each side which I've filled with some rubber stoppers.
I'm not sure what to do here. I'm considering drilling 2 holes and putting bolts through and into the fins of the lightbar to help keep it in place which should work but probably won't look great.
The other problem is...the CJC OffRoad brackets are not strong enough. They mount into the door jams with 3 rivets per side. They are too thin of metal to really hold the weight of the lightbar without allowing rattle/movement.
I have to say I'm ready to rip this POS off my roof and mount it to my front bumper or do away with it all together.
I'm open to ideas or suggestions...but my recommendation would be to NOT do a roof mounted light bar.
I'd like to hear from others that have done this and your experiences if possible with ideas for solutions....before I crack!
