I cut out the center... I bought a four foot pice of 2x1/4 steel, mounted it to the tow hook bolts since there aren't any tow hooks, then mounted the light to that pice of steel... I fit everything and then removed and painted to keep from rusting... Then trimmed the filler to fit around the mounts and go about 1/2 inch behind the light so you can't see there I cut

Pretty much my method.

Myn is a auxbeam. I ordered it right through auxbeam.com and it works great! If you order it through there website you know it's not a fake knock off auxbeam bar. What I really liked about it was that it had the moisture release valve on the side of it so it shouldn't ever fog up and it's rated for ip67. I've had it for about a little over a month now and I have pressure washed the bar manny times and I have never gotten water in it and still works like it should. 5a42e6ffaf5cbe796a6aa9b7efa1b562.jpg1f206e23430ff1bdebe396472066fb86.jpg

Here's my bar

Lift

Looking at getting a lightbar installed in my bumper. Likely going with a 42" curved for my sport. Are people getting it flush? I noticed some pics of it sticking out.

Also and more importantly if I install a body lift will it screw up my light bar install?

Thanks

Not sure on the body lift but mine is flush. Depending on body lift height it may still be ok. 9975cceb59fcd6619e4d7b83fb1c0f3f.jpga55d29e0d3ede1428768851cdbfb493e.jpg3883c6437de8097b5484ab5c360d4aa3.jpg

That looks good. Any idea how solid a light bar would be if connected to the bumper?

IMO not solid at all... And the brackets are to long on most bars to still be able to center in the opening. Now on top of the bumper would be different I think that would be very solid but down lower in that opening the bumper is very flexible

If you place the light bar in the opening of the bumper and make bracket attracted to the frame the lightbar will be solid, attacking it to just the bumper I would doubt it. but here a pic of my truck after the front end accident and the light bar was the only thing that survived

I agree.

I don't think it would be super solid but more importantly I'd be worried about somebody yankin on it or see it as an easy target to steal.

Just my .02
