So I always listen to my iPhone/iPod and connect it via Bluetooth. As of late when trying to change the song via the controls on the steering wheel it seems to take forever to go to the next song. If I push the button to change the song it will stay on the current song for about a good minute and then change. Is this a software issue????? What do you all recommend?

I have a 2017 Longhorn with navigation

I sometimes get similar lags using my iPhone via USB.

Hi Chief_6.7 and TomT,
Have you checked to see if there are any software updates available for your truck? You can find out by entering your VIN on the following link:
https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html
If this does not help, you may also send us a private message where we can look into this further for you.

Click that "Get Started" button and it will guide you through the procedure. Have at least an hour set aside to do the actual upgrade. It's not hard, just time consuming. You could also go to the dealer and pay them to do it, but I wouldn't if it was me.

When put up against the ****** factory radios, it damn well looks “factory enough”. :)

You can get most if not all of the vehicle functions on the aftermarket radios using an iDatalink Maestro and either Alpine, Kenwood, or Pioneer head units. Check Crutchfield or the iDataLink site for info.

I’m personally partial to the Kenwood 995 and 9905 units. The 9905 skips the NAV which is fine since it has CarPlay.

I've had the same issue lately. Was wondering if there was an update that I needed to perform. Haven't checked yet.

It does look good but did you retain the factory controls on the steering wheel and the Bluetooth mic and all? Also does your alpine have Apple CarPlay

My X208U does not have carplay. I would never use it, im not into all that fancy crap. I can play songs to my radio with bluetooth so its fine for me. But the X108U does have carplay, and you wont have any of the probmems the 8.4 does.
Yes it retains all facfory heating and other conttols on the touch screen. But you have to buy the idatink harness.

Dont forget, alpine has the best audio tuning capabilities of any other radio. They also have 3 sets of RCA outputs to run amps. So you dont have to spend all that money on things to be able to run an amp.

As per microphone, my radio has it built in. Im pretty sure the X208U comes with an external mic.

Both radios can use steering wheel controls, just have to buy the harness.

You sure it's not an issue with some sort of update apple did and not the radio? My 8.4 and android phone work flawless, never had an issue with it.
