So yesterday when I left work turn signal out message was gone. But when I had to return to work later in the evening it was back on and stayed in all night and morning.
So I’m driving this morning and pull
Out into the sun and alarm went away when my headlights and tailLights turned off. If I manualy turn on taillights warning comes back and goes off when I turn them off. So that explains the warning coming and going. I’m going to try and change them to NO let it sleep then turn it back to YES when I get home

Ok I'm about to pull the trigger on this but have one question which I searched for but could not find an answer to; Is the OBDLink LX compatible? Looking on the OBDLink website comparison chart shows the only difference between the MX and LX is this; the MX also supports Single-Wire CAN (SW-CAN) GM & Medium-Speed CAN (MS-CAN) Ford, otherwise they are identical in supported protocols. Has anyone bought and tried the LX with AlphaOBD? Curious as I don't want to spend money on something that's not necessary. Also the price on the MX went up $15 overnight!

AlfaOBD.com has a good explainer on the interfaces....this is from there (bold added by me):

"OBDLink MX, LX and SX. OBDLink MX is the recommended interface for the cars with high-speed CAN bus on pins 6 and 14 and the middle-speed CAN bus on the pins 3 and 11 of the OBD plug. These are most of the Chrysler/Dodge/Ram/Jeep cars, PowerNet and CUSW-based, Fiat Tipo/Egea. No additional adapters are needed for these cars when using OBDLink MX. Note: Fiat 500X/Jeep Renegade and Compass (MP) require the "grey" adapter for the access to the second high-speed CAN bus.

LX and SX interfaces additionally require "blue" adapter for access to the middle-speed CAN bus."

I’m having a issue with getting changes to stick. I had a tail light go out so I installed LED bulbs but was getting left/right turn signal bulb out message. So after reading about the AloaOBD I bought the OBDLink MX and Alpaobd for windows.
Got everything working changed brake, tail, turn lights to LED=yes.
Message says it was complete I disconnected let truck set for a while 1-3 hours. Ran to the store and turn signal R,L bulb message came on when I started the truck.
So when I got home I reconnected to truck it shows as LED are set to yes. So I disconnected went inside for a while 20-30 min desided to see is it was still showing message but now all good no message.
So I call it a night and left for work yesterday and the bulb out message was back. While at lunch I connected to truck found led still show as YES. Went back to work but when I left to go home 3-4 he later the message never came back on. But this morning I have the bulb out message again. Is there something I’m doing wrong or not doing?

2014 Ram 3500 Tradesmen only added RA3 other wise it’s the was it came from Ram

I had the same issue with my lights. The only setting that worked to get rid of the warning message was something like, "rear light DTC disable - yes" (I forget the exact setting)

But then your warning lights don't work.

I ended up having to remove the resistors from my tail lights to correct the issue.

Maybe your truck doesn't like the LEDs you got?

When it set to LED the computer knows it’s an LED bulb and expects Low amperage that’s why the resistors need removed
The resister was designed to Tick the computer To make it think it was an incandescent bulb

I figured out the high idle on a manual with cruise control it took me a while you have to ground out the pin like the guy said but then I had to figure out how to turn it on and it’s under the engine category
So far I’ve done that lowered my tPMS settings
Add windows controlled by remote
And I think I’m going to add the auxiliary switches once I get them in

Well from what I can tell issues is now fixed. I reset the LED to No let the truck set for an hour or so then checked and it showed Light out message then changed back to Yes let the truck sleep for an hour or so. And now no Light out Message regardless what I do. But I guess the real test will be tomorrow morning.

in the BCM,
under "Car configuration change"
there is a section of " ECU Config 14- ***********" its 3/4 of the way down right before "Veh Config 7-*********"
There are things like "Excess lateral acceleration factor" and "brake smoothing factor" among others. I think this stuff messes with the stability control and traction control. There are several thresholds and factors to set. I am not brave enough to screw with any of it. Just want to point some brave soul in that direction. I know many folks would like to put the truck sideways for whatever reason;)

Maybe I am completely wrong and thats not what it is at all. The fact that I can not turn off stability control in 2WD is my biggest complaint with my Ram. I really hate it.

Good news so far then.

It actually took a couple days for the DTC disable to work for my truck. Odd that reverting that setting didn't take long though.

Please update us when you get a chance to drive it tomorrow.
