I ditched the SRA's at 2300 miles. On wet roads they spun with not much throttle. MY experience with them. Went with Nitto Terra Grappler G2's XLs.

the Nitto's are one of the tire options on my list for when I do. I had a set on my 2004 Ram. loved the look of them. truck was tboned 2 weeks after i got it so never had a chance to really see how they wore, etc. but they rode fine. were on a truck that a saleswoman used to drive a lot on highway and gravel to farms selling farm fertilizer.

I say do a YouTube video called “burn out on brand new tires until they explode”
That should get you a few bucks to put towards some falken AT3’s

Falkens are one of the consider options on my list too when I do. your post reminded me of high school and my first car, a 1970 mustang, 302 boss. it had some west coast rust so I bought it for 700 bucks in 1978. lol. me and some other friends would do burnouts on fridays after school and always had a spare set of tires in the trunk. i remember many times burning them down so hard you could see sparks. i paid 50-60 bucks for a pair of rear tires back then.

Mine made it 15,000 miles and then I lifted the truck and wanted to put bigger tires on.

Honestly I was very uninspired. Didn’t like them but didn’t hate them. I never took them off road but they did fine for me in all weather including light snow. Not too many complaints but nothing good to say either. I drive easy and didn’t push them in hard conditions, though.

If I’m buying tires I’d never get SR-A tires considering the number of other better tires. Some people on here really hate them and think they’re responsible for 10,000 deaths a year though.

I went with Nitto Ridge Grapplers on mine and I can still spin them with moderate throttle like all these guys complain about the SR-A. That’s just the physics of a wet surface + pickup truck in 2wd IMO.

I would replace them ASAP to be honest. They are down right dangerous, you’ll find that out for yourself one your first rainfall

Yes he will They are the worst in the rain ,almost wreaked because the tires just slide like I never seen tires do that

My Good Year SRA tires had a defect in them Cracks all around the beed of the tire. They took them off and I had Bridgestone Dueller Alenza Plus tires put on what a great improvement you feel right away smooth and even when turning. The tires come with a 80,000 mile warranty, happy so far. Also Good Year took the tires back under Warranty had to pay 50.00 a tire prorate ,had 14,000 miles on them

i was looking for used tires for my son on Kijiji today and found a sh$tload of low mileage SRAs for sale. my ears are burning:) Some with stock rims which I assume may be just to swap out for sexier, but a lot of tires only too.

Further to my comment above, and related the Kijiji sales comment. I’d buy another “new to me” low miles used set of SR-A’s up in a heart beat if I needed replacement winter rubber., no problem what so ever! I think people don’t know how to drive to suit the conditions anymore ( or never did know how, most likely the case). Ok, flame suit on! Excuse me, back to Main Street drifting!

T, (waitin for Goodyear to send him a new set of SR-A’s )

I replaced my Goodyears with the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S and I am BEYOND pleased! The wet and snow traction are night and day above the Goodyears! They are as quiet, or quieter than the Goodyears too! I can say that I HIGHLY recommend them!!! I went with the factory size 275/60R20...

I replaced my SRAs at 40,000 miles on my 2013 with new SRAs and had 67,000 on it when I traded it in. They weren't that good on wet roads but in 6 years I never had any issues. Just had to be easy on the gas pedal a little. Even in the western PA winters they weren't that bad but I did not off-road mine. The SRAs weren't my first choice when I replaced them but the local dealer had a buy 2 get 2 free so they were a few hundred $$$ cheaper than any others

Replaced mine with Michelin. The Goodyears hydroplaned once and they were gone. I think they are dangerous. New tires are a lot cheaper than a funeral. They truly scare me and I've been driving for a long long time. If some people are happy with them I glad for them, but that wasn't my experience.

I voted right away because I say get a more aggressive tire as soon as possible and sell the sra’s while they are still worth a little bit to offset some of the cost

I agree, get rid of the SRAs, they’ll get somebody hurt, bad traction and feel like I’m gonna wrap the truck around a pole. Also magnets for any kind of puncture damage. I went through a couple of SRAs and repaired a couple of times and said screw it, got KO2s, couldn’t be happier.

And to you people that say it’s the person behind the “loud pedal”, I drive an eco diesel, I baby it and still had traction problems. The tire is trash, only useful as a tire swing or target practice.

I found they were pretty decent in snow. Pretty much their 1 redeeming quality. In the rain they were just terrible.

The last straw for me was when I was going down the highway around 60mph with cruise control on. It was mildly raining, roads were wet but there was no standing water in tire ruts of the lanes. As I'm going along on a straight section my tractions control light starts flashing like the rear wheels are slipping. Then I felt the back end start going sideways. I slowed down and got control back. Got back up to 60mph and set the CC again. A few mins later the same thing happened. I found if I gave it the slightest bit of gas the back tires would loose grip. I had both my kids in the back and my youngest was an infant. At the time the truck had just over 15k and the SRAs were about half worn. At the time my truck was essentially stock.

Those POS' we're off my truck within a week after that. I've never had that problem again with the Cooper at3s that replaced them or the Michelin Defenders that are on my truck now.

The SRAs are pure garbage.

I have had zero problems on wet roads with the SRAs and find them to be very good tires at the 10k mark. Unless you have a problem with them why would you replace them? They are a straight highway tire so they are not great in snow so I bought 2 matching wheels and put 2 Cooper snow tires on the rear just for the winter and they are now in the garage. They also get really good mpg and the price for new ones is a real bargain so I will put them on again if they last the 50k a lot of drivers report.

Actually I have never had much luck with Good Year tires. All else being equal I would never buy them for anything. Like I said earlier, mine weren't great but not bad enough that I would take them off before they were worn. And the ONLY reason I bought another set was cause they were about $200 cheaper than any other tire with the deal they had. But I did spin them quite a few times on this one hill we have. It's a 90* turn going uphill at slow speeds. Other than that one hill it wasn't bad.

Now my new 2500 has the factory Firestones. We got pounded with rain the other day and my right tire hit some slight ponding about 1" deep. Left front was on regular wet roads and I was going about 15 MPH. I could feel the front of the truck drift right sliding the left front. Never had that happen with my 1500. It happened a few times the other night. So far from what I have seen the Firestones are worse than the SRAs but it's still early with the 2500

i find it amazing how different the experiences are with these tires. Especially the wet road stuff. I have driven them on snow as I got the truck in February, but only in the city and I put er in 4x4 to be on the safe side. My only needed no matter the weather highway experience with them will be the first month of july. i'm hoping for dry weather:) Having had a bad black ice experience as well as a few driving my ford transit van for work, I seem to have a pretty good radar for wet and ice. i don't know how other people are, but I can "feel" the tires aren't quite right and ease up as is appropriate. i can't remember if I've had a chance (I won't say pleasure) to drive with them on rain on the highway or not, yet.
