If you are waiting on a tune, I would pick up a borla proxs muffler, tonneau cover, tint, remove decals and black vinyl on door pillars. Save your money regarding Cai. Not much benefit for the money on a stock truck. Look up stock intake mod.

For me personally, I would go custom tune. I hate the way the 8 speed shifts stock. Always wanting to be in a lower gear for mileage. A custom tune will make the truck much better performance wise and just better in general. I have not read about one person. Regretting a custom tune. But with your preference for looks and having a warranty, that $1000 can go further.

So, between taxes and some backpay that is owed to me, combined with the itch to put some smaller upgrades into my new toy, looking to put some of my hard earned play money to good use!

I've read through the PAGES and PAGES of the under $100 mods thread, as well as the newer under $300 thread. But, if you had a grand or so burning a hole in your pocket, what would you spend it on?

Already have a tailgate assist waiting for a break in the weather to install. Not in the market for new shoes quite yet...

So, what say you? Somebody drops $1000 in your hand to spend on your truck, what are you spending it on?

$240 for tint? Just got a quote from the highest rated tint shop in my area, for $125. Glad I live here and not in your neck of the woods!

I'll have to look into this electric cutout deal, first I've heard of it...

Definitely like the last 2 ideas though!

Got the money, but can't figure out which mods are actually important to me! Right now, future mods are with towing my TT in mind. I ordered Bilstein 5160's today. On my short list are Timber Grove ASAM (to upgrade my Airlift 1000HD), AirLift Wireless compressor, Billstein 6112's (rather than coil spring spacers) and some Core 4X4 components. The only other big ticket item on my list isn't suspension related: Katzkin seat covers. I Mexico vacation with my wife does sound nice also : )

They have a more basic tint you can choose but I always get the mid tier which also comes with a lifetime warranty and offers a higher level of UV protection

Yea, the basic level stuff here is $85, and runs up to $165 for the top of the line tint package...

Tonneau covers have been on my radar since I picked up my new toy, considering it left the factory with one, yet was on the lot without it. But I can be patient and wait awhile before springing for a replacement...

Think when I do eventually jump on one, think it'll be a Bakflip...

CAI is something I've been reading up on, as far as which style seems to be the way to go (Vararam vs K&N/S&B style), so really leaning towards the winner of that "competition" making the cut.

As far as a tuner/muffler delete, that might have to wait a good while. Had to buy an extended warranty (long story) that's basically a new factory warranty. Got it for 4 years/50k miles, so I have 49k+ remaining. A tune probably wouldn't be a good idea, from what I've read, as much as I would prefer to mess around with one... I like the ideas though, maybe one of these days!

Ah, gotcha. I respect that you want to keep the warranty. A Pedal Commander is not nearly as intrusive or risky as a tuner/PCM swap. It installs between the gas pedal and the gas pedal harness. You simply unplug the harness and plug the Pedal Commander in. It easily removable and cannot be detected in the PCM because it modifies the signal coming out of the gas pedal and doesn't change anything in the PCM. From all of the testimonials on here, I feel like it would be a great mod for your truck. I bought one for mine but have not installed it yet. Even if I was still in the warranty period (or purchased an aftermarket warranty), I would have no reservations about running one on my truck.

But ultimately, it is your decision about what you feel comfortable with. A muffler swap would not void your warranty but I understand if you wouldn't want to chance it. There is no shame in that

Tint is my 1st thing every time I get a new vehicle. Protects the interior, a dash pad to protect the dash. I would have one now except one of the the dogs is still a lil wyld. Seat covers, again protection. Being here where winters are messy, living out in the country and the camping trips, floor liners. Sending money to protect is def not money wasted.

Yep, what you said exactly. Think throwing a PC on her is gonna make the cut. Pretty excited to see what kind of difference it really makes personally, vice just from what I've read from others. Think it's gonna be worth the couple hundred it'll cost...

Yea, there are other things, like a tune, that I would like to more seriously consider. But, considering I'm about 700 miles into a 4yr/50k warranty period, not wanting to jeopardize that quite yet. Maybe here in a couple years, I'll be free to really play with her and see what she can do! For now, I'll play by the rules!

Thanks for your .02...

Yep, tint is gonna make the cut too, not only for my truck, but the wife just picked up a new Highlander, so they'll be getting it too.

Floor liners, I'm good there. They came with a pretty good set of all weather liners that'll be good enough to handle the mild winters here in VA.

Appreciate the ideas! Definitely been a few thrown out here that I would have never thought of on my own, so glad I decided to throw out the fishing line!
