What kind of pin do I need so I can ground it out? Or does anyone have the Part Number to the hood latch with the switch?

So what parts are needed to do the remote start on my 2015 2500? The key fob buttons and a hood switch? I have AlfaOBD already... I thought at one time you had to replace the RF Hub? Has that changed?

If on the c1 connector pin 11 is populated most just splice into it and ground it on the parking brake bracket. Since you have a 2018 it should be populated. Mine was. I don't remember if it's this thread or the other remote start thread but there are part numbers listed in 1 of them.

At one time it was assumed that the rf hub had to be replaced. Someone discovered it didn't. Verify that your circuit board on the fob has all the contact points installed (I believe someone posted pic's above) if so, just buy the new overlays with remote start (off Amazon, I think they are around $10-15). Check connector c1 pin 11 at the bcm and verify it's populated. If so then you can simply splice into it and ground it. If you want the hood latch, you can buy that but you'd either have to find a junk yard to get the hood latch harness or find the correct connector and pins to make your own. A lot of places that sell the particular pins and connectors have recently put a large minimum quantity on everything. A year and a half ago I was able to buy pins for the bcm and front end module connector (under the fuse box that has lighting/hood latch) at any quantity. Now most have a 100 minimum. Which depending on the pin might equal out to $20-50 for a 100.

If pin 11 is populated, you're in luck..
So far all single cab trucks have been pre-wired and those with the Alpine system along with a few others I haven't been able to find out the rhythm.
If it is populated, all you need to do is put a jumper wire into the hood latch connector that your truck has. All trucks have this regardless of Pin 11 population or not.
Some trucks it's wired into the BCM (pin 11).
The rest is wired under the fuse box.
I can sell you a pre-made harness if you're in Canada.
Or I will direct you to a guy in Kansas if you're in the United States.
You're looking at about 30 to $40 for a pre-made harness that'll make your life much easier

So my pin 11 is populated up to the white connector in the fuse box. Then the pins that would go to the switch are not.

So I’ve ordered the splice repair kit with the connector and a new hood latch, $60. I also ordered the new over lays for my key fobs, $11. Already have Alpha so this will be cheap and awesome!

Thanks for the pics and all the posts.

Is anyone sure the OP has the correct RF hub in a 2015? I remember two years back when I installed keyless n go in my 2018 BigHorn the RF hubs were a big controversy. I’m not so sure that all the 2015s came with remote start capable RF hubs. May be best if you pull the rear seat and the trim panel and check the RF hub part number with the local parts department to make sure it’s the correct one.

It’s been discovered that every RF Hub from 2013+ is capable of remote start, regardless of part number or part description.

I've also confirmed 09-12 WIN is capable.

So I have a purple with blue tracer wire that appears to go pin 11 on BCM. On the gray connecter under the PCM, I have the purple with blue tracer wire on pin 1 (2015 2500) on one side but nothing on the other side. I don't see a connector anywhere near the hood latch. So do you have a harness that would go from the hood switch to the gray connector under the PDC? I am the US

Some of the 2500/3500 do have a wire in pin 11
If your positive that you do not have the hood latch connector.
What you can do is cut the wire that's in pin 11, add some wire to it and ground it to somewhere simple as that

Isn't pin 11 for the hood safety switch? If you have others working on your truck like for oil changes, etc. it would probably not be a good idea to bypass the safety switch. You could be liable if someone was injured due to an inadvertent remote start.

Yes I wanted to have a hood latch switch if possible. Thinking I could pin in at the connector under the PDC. I didnt know if anyone sold a harness that went from hood latch to PDC connector? Or do I have to get the repair kit from Ram?

Ok so I have a 2015 2500 and I grounded c11, did the alfaobd remote start enable, c11 hood ajar switch yes. Reset rf hub and still getting "remote start cancelled hood ajar" on the display. I've reversed it all, checked for codes ... nothing. Redid it all again and still getting the same message.
Please help!!! I'm stumped

You cannot ground that wire on C11. It needs to have a 1K ohm resistor across it to work.

Just add it to the ground wire?? That doesn't make sense if it's grounded. It does not have a hood ajar switch on the latch or harness. I pulled the pin that was in c11 and added one and grounded to the instrument panel frame where all the other grounds are located. I now have 2 2015 2500s with the same issue. Lil help here would be greatly appreciated

What did you set the ohms for the hood latch with alphaobd?

I didn't. Never had to do that before since it's a ground
