It seems they changed the design couple of weeks ago, i see a post in the Gladiator forums dated 01/26/21 that says they're now making the bent version the primary one in all their kits for the JT. Hoping they didn't discontinue the straight version, they should offer both :)

I tought about the bent one for you guys with the alum bigger diff covers but from Dilligaf pic it seems the straight one will fit.

I'm using 100ft/lbs in mine, this is my 3rd panhard now and i've always used 100. 200 will be too much for those bolts. 200 is for the control arms.

Thanks, I ended up using 100 ft-lbs, 200 just seemed way too much. I found another thread that said factory spec is 114 ft-lbs for the 1500. I'll probably shoot Clayton a note and see if they still have the straight versions. The drawings for both parts from Clayton do have different dimensions which is kind of odd.

Up does look way better , If you flip it 180 does the bend center more on the diff ?

It may center it, but I don't think it will. Our mounting brackets are offset and I'm pretty sure the bend is centered.

Would flipping the bar make any difference having the JJ on the lower side?

I emailed Clayton today and it's official they have discontinued the straight version and now only sell the one with the bent.
There are other options as well that are also quality in the same price range with JJ bushing on one side and a flex bushing on the other that are straight.

Rockjock RJ-150400-105
EVO EVO-3049B
Icon now have one that can be adjusted while mounted, Icon IVD22068 , little more expensive of course.

Haha, they are probably wondering why they all of a sudden are getting emails about the straight bar. Clayton confirmed there would be no issue running the bar with the JJ on the axle side, but that it hadn't been tested for clearance.

I think I'll try flipping the bar so that the bend is facing upwards and backwards. It looks like it would have clearance this way, but we'll see. I don't feel like going through the hassle of returning it and not too worried about the looks. It's a really nice piece, the joint is beefy and this version has Giiro bushings at each end.

Here it is mounted with the bend facing backwards and up. It does kind of look like contact would be possible on the upper round part of the frame.

Ty for all the testing, this is what make this community the best RAM forum out there. What's your measurement from the bumpstop pad to the jounce ? it seems the bar may clear with the bent up but barely.

Now on another thought after looking at all the pics and angles, i think you may've found a way to lower the angle of the bar without a relocation bracket :) so bent down looks a lot better and should function better too.

Per your pics, i like it with the bent pointing down with the JJ on the frame from a functionality perspective

That will be sweet. I emailed Clayton making the inquiry as well. Well see if together we can convince Adam there is a niche here :) Heck i'm running Clayton coil springs, Clayton trackbar and Clayton full rear control arms.

The dudes over the 5th gen 1500 forum are more than happy with the Clayton 2.5" rear springs as i helped a couple with their offroad setups so now more people are joining the Clayton fun. Like me they're getting 2" of lift with 500-550lbs of permanent weight in the bed, so that's perfect for us with heavy rear setups with steel bumpers, toppers with a bunch of recovery gear, RTT's, bed slides etc etc who like offroading exploration/overlanding etc etc. 5th Gen can get 3" of lift in the front without brackets so is a whole different animal as well, rear needs 2" with a 3" front and they want to hold the weight without spacers or bags. How funny the Jeep aftermarket can come to the rescue for the truck one. Should be opposite as we can tow 10k lbs hahahaha.

I didn't do anything special i just cranked on the adjuster. We're supposed to grab the other side with a crescent or something but i think a 2nd pair of hands might be needed for that. the JJ have some misaligment and the giro has some misaligment as well so you should be ok.

You can shove a spacer on one side to tighten down when in place.

Monkey wrench and put some masking tape over the monkey wrench so it doesn't scuff the bars. I dunno... in a redneck mood tonight.

Installed it today, fit like a glove. Ripped out my Hellwig sway bar and End links and bead blasted them will paint them up this week. They were rusted solid but Hellwig were nice enough to warrenty the end link bushings.

I emailed Clayton to add my name to the list for the straight rear bar. Told my GF I’m buying it before it fully goes discontinued. Lol. Full rear control arm set will be ordered simultaneously. I’m excited.

To bad i didn't know you back when Cutter-up was still making suspension components,as Rob was building some of the heavy dutiest stuff i've ever seen, but in those days he was specializing in suspension components for the high horse Diesal guys, now he just builds their engines though, lol. His trackbars and lower locating arms were double adjustable, and he was Calgary based.DSCN3969.JPG

Oof, that's awesome. Do I buy one and swap it out for the bent version? I wish they had these before I bought mine.

Any thoughts if I'll have an issue with the sway and pan hard making contact?

This is with Icon 1.5 springs, core 4x4 +2 end links and Hellwig sway:
