The build quality of my Ram is less than ideal. I've had lots of little things go wrong/break over the last four years of ownership. Luckily most of them are easy fixes and I can easily do them myself.
- Drivers headlight housing had water buildup. Tried everything but ended up getting a new one. Now the passenger one has water in it...
- Rear window leaks. The third brake light one was easy to fix. The other was caused by the poor drainage design with Rams with the sliding rear window. Took me forever to pinpoint and fix it.
- Sun vizor clip on the drivers side just snapped off one day. Very easy to replace but of course it's held on by a torx bit.
- Wiring connector going to the A/C compressor disintegrated. This one I did not fix myself, cost $700.
- A/C compressor is loud when on. I hear a whining sound at low speeds. Not really a problem but I find it annoying.
- Evap purge solenoid went bad at 50k. OEM replacement part was also bad, so I had to replace it twice.
- The rims have a plastic chrome piece that's adhered on. A couple of them are starting to bubble/peel.
- Door pillar vinyl starting to degrade. Will probably remove at some point.
- General maintenance is surprisingly difficult, but that's common with modern cars/trucks. That oil filter location
Nothing here is a deal breaker for me at least. The ride quality, engine power and transmission more than make up for it.
