Found another camping upgrade I decided I couldn't live without. I was into RC trucks at various times growing up, and drinking beer while camping is a given. This thing has LED lights and Bluetooth music speakers. Has a remote control with three speeds. Gonna be the easiest way to bring drinks while visiting other campsites.

I went to great lengths to lighten my payload. I made sure this trailer had an outdoor kitchen. I wanted the fridge so I could stop carrying a cooler full of ice and drinks. I also bought a Beech Lane leveler kit (similar to the Anderson levelers but stronger) along with a second set of lynx leveler blocks for the stabilizer jacks so I could leave the two 6' long 2 x 8 boards and the rest of the wood at home.

They only thing extra I carry with me now is a 6' aluminum ladder to inspect the slide before I put it in. That's very light. I would get a ladder on the back but this trailer doesn't have the backers for it. I already emailed Coachmen about that.

So that leaves myself, our dog (14lbs), and sometimes my wife. If we camp locally she drives her car. She comes later so I can have the basics set up when she's gets there.

I did take into account the weight of the soft tonneau cover, drop in bed liner, step bars, and class 4 receiver I added in addition to the weight of the Equalizer hitch itself.

I crunched the numbers pretty hard.

Outdoor kitchen? I have one of those, it’s called a bbq. 14 pound dawg? My little boy is 75 pounds. It is nice having a ladder attached to the back of the trailer. Do you have solar panels?

We really don't have all that much weight in the trailer, but anything we put in pretty much has to go forward of the axles. I moved my tool bag to the bathroom under the sink, and we put drinking water bottles in the shower, but there's not much room for heavier stuff.
Anyway the 2500 will handle it, and we don't have to worry about what we load into the truck. Screenhouse, firewood perhaps, a bin full of parts/fluids and tools for the summer long trip, and extra clothes, you know the drill. Oh yes the cordless drill.

I actually forgot to mention the very first mod I did on my trailer. I rotated the tongue jack head 90 degrees so I could open my tailgate. I've since helped several others do theirs as well. I carry the tap with me just in case. LOL

I just wanted the outdoor fridge. I don't use the stove. No panels either, I don't need them. I don't boondock. I'm spoiled, full hookup.

Does anyone have or know of a good handrail extension? Our camper has 3 steps and the handrail is really only good for the first step for kids. Our son took a nice digger last summer getting out of the camper.

When I bought I didn’t want an outdoor kitchen. To me they waisted too much space and was unnecessary for my needs. The bunkhouses units were something else I avoided. It was hard to find a regular trailer. I found those are now called couple trailers. I found I was in the minority when it came to not wanting a bunkhouse model. I guess that’s why they make different models.

Today I installed the furrion 3 camera system with the 7” screen. When I pulled off the original marker lights I found green and white wires running to them. Normally white is power and green is ground. Not so in my trailer, it’s just the opposite. Apparently TT don’t follow the standard everyone else uses. That’s why I’m glad I checked the wires with a meter before hooking anything up.

Don’t you just hate when that happens?

I was at work when I posted that and the 5g signal is spotty in our shop. I didn't realize that it posted the first time.

Of course I couldn’t stop with the cameras so I replaced the kitchen faucet too.

The new faucet is a residential, not a RV model. So I had to find an adapter to make it work.

Looks great, I wanted to do that too but there is very little access under my kitchen sink. No cabinet doors and only a few small drawers. I can't reach the fittings.

any ideas on a porch lite when the camper didnt come with one?
Did it come with any sort of outside light? No awning light? Sometimes these trailers are hard to fish wires through especially if they have the hard foam insulation. Smooth side aluminum frame trailers usually use that. If you have a stick and tin trailer they usually use regular fiberglass insulation. That's easier to fish through.

Try finding something electrical on the inside and mount a light on the outside right next to it or fish the wire up higher. Tap off the power. You'll have to figure out a switch point too but if you can't find one just buy a light with a remote.

If all else falls I'm sure you can find a nice battery powered outside LED with remote. Or do what I did and install underglow lighting. We use that outside. We rarely use the awning light.

i have awning lights, speaker lights, and also step lights and going to do the underglo lights like you have but my last one had a porch light. amber and rather dim. just enough light to see at night but not awning light bright.

I am using a small battery operated light to illuminate the entry steps. Has a light and motion sensor.
I also have awning lights but it's too bright for my liking.
We also have a couple of those inflatable lights the wife likes too hang on the awning arms. Just enough light so I can find my cocktail glass LOL
