What do people think about window tints? Just matching the front 2 windows to the rears or getting a ceramic coating on all the windows too? And what percentage do you recommend

Now that being said, plenty have gone past that. I seen a case in NE where a vehicle hit a pedestrian with illegal tint and it went from a plain accident to negligence
Not disagreeing about the safety aspect. But there's more going on than just safety. Lots of states allow tint on the windshield and front side windows. But it's not legal in other states to tint either of those. Are you saying it's safe to tint the front side windows in Washington state, but unsafe to do so in New Jersey? As it should. As annoying, or uncool, as some may feel these limits are, they do exist for safety reasons. Visibility is a rather important aspect of driving, lol.
This would make more sense to me than visibility/safety for the driver. But it seems strange then that my state changed the legal limit for the side windows from 35% to 20% a few years ago. Almost like they care less about the safety of LEO's than they used to.Visibility certainly should be of a concerned any time, yet if you look into why certain states have tint limitations, it’s not solely nor even the main reason from the drivers View point.
It is more so from a Police Officer view point and their safety When approaching a vehicle.
When I discuss the probable reasons for tint limits roadside, I agree with the driver that while 5% VLT is great in Texas at 3:00PM in August, they are reminded how unsafe it is at 1:00AM where pedestrians may be present; not to mention if it's raining.Visibility certainly should be of a concerned any time, yet if you look into why certain states have tint limitations, it’s not solely nor even the main reason from the drivers View point.

Can't speak for Florida, but in Texas the tint law doesn't apply to law enforcement vehicles. On a related note, my agency (THP) doesn't allow tint below 25% VLT on our units. And of course, you always have the wonderful boys in blue who have limo tint but are more than a little enthusiastic to write tint tickets to anybody else...
No. I am saying when you have tint so dark that you cannot see people at night, as an example, that's unsafe. Not disagreeing about the safety aspect. But there's more going on than just safety. That's more of a rhetorical question. I realize that's not what you're saying.
Do you have a photo of the inside view of a 50% windshield tint?I had the tint shop put either 50 or 70 on my windshield. It is ceramic so it helps keep out heat and glare but it is legally clear. I am probably going to do it on my truck at some point.
This is 50% tint on my windshield ....Do you have a photo of the inside view of a 50% windshield tint?
