4th Gen. "dislikes"?

What are some of the least things you like about your 4th generation Ram? (This isn't a knock on the truck at all. I LOVE my Ram and this is my second brand new Ram in 10 years.)
I guess I'll go first.
I don't really like the windshield washer nozzles on the hood. I like the way they were on my 3rd gen Daytona. The other thing I'm not too crazy about is the way the MDS comes on/engages. Don't like the "drone" I guess you call it. These aren't real issues for me, just wanted to see what others have to share.
MDS? Drone? What do I have I didn’t know about ?! Please elaborate

Thank you sir all good  I am hesitant to post in this section because it can be perceived as whining and it is but this is the reason for the thread.
Well you know, it is what it is and who knows, maybe that was the reason why these threads were created was just to see what people would come up with. Some have been funny and comical but some have been pretty petty and just sound like they needed something to complain about.

Also, the brakes on my 2020 Ram aren’t nearly as good as my 12 dually were. I find myself pushing too hard at normal posted speeds coming to a stop.

Yeah I hear ya some of the things don't matter at all to me. I try to keep an open mind about it. I know what matters to me probably doesn't mean diddly to someone else and vice versa. What you get with a thread based pretty much on opinion.

I have no complaint really
My 2009 Dodge Ram Quad cab had the floor shifter, sure it was Shift By Wire, but to me it was comfortable & i could drive on a road with constant switch backs hand shifting the transmission at the optimum time to slow with out using brakes & accelerate at the perfect time. Was what i liked at about that setup.

Now that i have my 2016 Ram Quad Cab, it has that darn Rotary shifter with buttons on the steering wheel, you can not drive a road with those same switch backs & shift anywhere near the same, you have to take those turns & try to find those buttons while trying to watch the road. it is impossible
Then there is the other distracting factor, you are watching the road & reach over to turn a knob on the radio & i grab the Rotary shifter.

Now i understand that there is a newer Ram with the floor shifter :)
If i get over my illnesses, i will want to return to work, & when my Extended Warranty expires, i will start looing for another Ram.
It will have to be a Quad Cab, my parking area is very restrictive.
I would be partially blocking the apartments sidewalk if the truck was a Crew Cab.

The cement line under the rear bumper, is the edge of the sidewalk

I know exactly what your saying on the shifter. My 2009 had the floor shifter and it was far superior than this rotary crap. I tow a lot and trying to shift manually with that switch on the steering column is cumbersome and maybe even dangerous, especially on turns.

You don't have to apologize for doing exactly what the thread is asking but don't be afraid to have your post commented on, though.

I dunno, I guess I'll just never get it. Still, I fully understand the concept of the thread so the "watchdogs" who feel they gotta police the discussion; chill but if you buy something outside of what you want, ya just don't have a reason to complain about what you got so I guess I stand alone when I say that. I'm not picking on you, Im just simply saying, that's all.

Yeah, it has been a sketchy system for a lot of folks but even with the 8.4 Uconnect, it does have a lot going on in it and it is a pretty extensive piece of equipment. These radios these days are certainly not the simple little plain radios they were 15, 20 years ago.

No, not at all worried why this bothers you as it is a pain in the butt but you just have to understand why it's there. I strongly believe that if that Star Trek actor hadn't of pinned himself between his Jeep and his driveway gate that we wouldn't have to deal with the AutoPark but it is what it is. Its a safety feature and more/less an anti-lawsuit device. But with that said, I still don't think anyone truly needs to have their door open to back up but I guess that's just me. Oh and if you didn't know, putting it in 4-Lo isn't the only thing that keeps the AutoPark from engaging; simply putting your seatbelt on or behind you or keeping just enough brake pedal pressure to light up the brake lights will keep it from slamming itself into park.

Hmm, the only time anything somewhat rattles in basically my same thing 4th gen as your Classic, is when I crank up the bass from my under-seat 10" JL Audio subs.

That's probably because these new Rams have coil spring rear suspension. They are a progressive spring but this is most definitely not the first time where I've heard about the rear of these Rams sagging or bottoming out fairy easy. Your fords had leaf spring suspension. Mine has the air ride so I can pull probably all the way up to the tongue weight percentage of my max trailer weight and not have any sag but being that you have those coils, sounds like you need to invest in some air helper springs.

Hmm. I don't drive dirt roads hardly at all but maybe you got one of the Monday morning or Friday afternoon trucks if you've got that bad of paint peeling.

You might be ale to take your driver side door panel off and see if you can squirt some silicone lube in the window tracks. maybe that would help. Mine doesn't chatter so not much I can help there.
I like your post.....Pulled a grand design camper pull behind with this 2019 Ram 7800lbs and it never bottomed out at all. Pulled very well in hills of Southern Ohio/ N. Ky. area with factory Air Suspension. It has the H/K Stereo System in it and its gets loud with Old time Rock & Roll playing by Bob Seger no rattles! Hated the back up Collision thingy on it when I got it, but changed the sensitivity on it so its not so bad now. lol. it stopped scaring the hell out me while backing out of a slanted drive way! It has auto park,I tried it one time and i swear it was going to hit the car parked beside me so I grabbed the wheel and cancelled it before it could do it and never used it since! Same with lane safty....it makes you think your hitting ice patches in the road!! So I keep it turned off at all times! Do like all the cams with forward/Top/front/rearview while driving by using a tazer to make it work while in motion.:)

As you age you will find it takes more effort do push a brake pedal.

4. Missing the factory underseat subwoofer. Window sticker says it should be there, My fault for not noticing during inspection at the dealer.
Took care of this problem today. The interweb is filled with awesome sites that you can purchase just about anything for a reasonable up front price with quick shipping. The factory sub doesn't make a huge difference but some of the deeper rolls and rumblings that were missing from our music b4 are there now.
Sometime prior to our purchasing our Ram someone definitely and purposely removed the subwoofer that came with this truck. The 2 mounting bolts have tool marks and are a little rounded off.

1. Included with the Big Horn trim package should be a Big Truck(or train) horn.
2. No corner step built into the rear bumper. Shouldn't have to go aftermarket for this. GM figured it out 2 gens ago. For crying out loud even Hyundai has them on it's baby pickup.
3. Lack of CD player(I WILL get over this, eventually, says my therapist).
4. Missing the factory underseat subwoofer. Window sticker says it should be there, My fault for not noticing during inspection at the dealer.
As for all the hate directed at the rotary shifter, I would have preferred a floor or center console mounted T-Handle like my GMC Jimmy had but I'm ok with the dial. Column shifters are great, if you want to feel like you're driving an early 80's Chevy Square body, or if you're ACTUALLY driving that classic Big 10 Chevy, but imo not so much on a modern pickup.
Grew up with column shifters! I do miss my floor shifter that I had in my 11 sport.
Like you, I can’t believe they haven’t put a side step in our bumpers.

“It” is in fact the TPMS but what you’re not getting is that it’s not the TPMS by itself that’s solely causing you the problems you’re experiencing; it’s because of where Chrysler has the threshold set on it is what’s giving you issues. That’s why I keep telling you if you would look into changing the threshold on it, you could run whatever pressure you want and not have that light coming on all the time.
I don’t know if dealers will do this for him. I believe he’ll have to get his own programmer.

LOL… I guess it would be neat to work for Ram if they paid good and if I didn’t have to work weekends since I do like their brand but just despite the general opinion of this and the other discussion, I don’t work for Ram and no, believe it or not, I’m not annoyed at the things that people don’t like about their trucks. I do still find it comical when somebody wants their truck to have certain things but end up buying a truck that doesn’t have said certain things and then turn around and complain about their truck not having what they wanted but I guess pretty much what I don’t like and what I find annoying is the increasingly amount of goofy things people complain about. I guess there’s just too many whiners these days which is what I really have an issue with and the kind of stuff that people will whine about.

And yes, I know this thread and the other one just like it pretty much opens the door wide open to come on in, have a seat and just tell us all about whatever you want concerning what you don’t like about your Ram no matter how silly or how petty it may be. If that bothers some of y’all then figure out a way to deal with it because this is a public forum and this new is how public for forums operate.
Lol , I often wonder if some folk even test drive the vehicle they purchase, especially when the knob shifter came out.

I still think bumper side step that Chevy came out with is ingenious and wish Ram would do the same. Keep waiting for someone to hit my rear bumper so I can do after market and get the side step. Lol

Al’s, wish I could have a 6 or 7 speed manual shift.
