    So I took it into the dealership and they told me that ice, snow, and sleet got packed up around one side of the transmission and caused it to not go into park. Haven't had a problem since.

    Went out and put the positive cable back on the battery. Got in, started up the truck, all warnings are gone. Figured that would happen when I unhooked the battery.     depending on what I'm reading the 8 speed doesn't have a linkage so snow packing around it would be false.

    So, I'm doing some reading and found a few posts where people had trouble with snow/slush packing around the transmission linkage. I have my truck in the parking garage so maybe some of that will melt by the time I try to leave in the morning

    I don't know why I did that. Just was sitting at the stop sign and thought I'd put it over to park before I switched the transfer case over.

    Sorry that was vague. This button is on the left side of the steering wheel up on the dash next to the instrument cluster. The little button with a phone on it
