Between Uconnect and Navigation, Dodge is ripping off its customers. $150+ for a nav update that is no more than a download? I can buy a better system with lifetime (I have this) updates for well under $100. When your truck costs over $50,000-$60,000 how can they nickel and dime you? Without Uconnect all your Apps are mostly useless too. Bait and switch as far as I'm concerned. You test drive your vehicle and fall in love with the design and operation and 6 months later they pull some of those operations away unless you pay an extortion fee. Shame on Chrysler. As far as satellite radio goes, I never pay full price. I pay $25 every six months instead of the autopayment method that rips you off for more than $100.
As I’ve said before, my NAV is pretty much useless to me. That’s why I’m glad for the Apple CarPlay integration so that I can sling Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze on the screen. Much better than that factory NAV ******** that they charge you a large sum of money to upgrade.
But OnStar for GM isn’t cheap, either. Those are premium services that you pay extra for.
But what features are they pulling after 6 months? All of those premium features are supposed to last a year before you have to pay to continue using them.
As far as the XM radio, I could probly get away with just the basic, 25-dollar every 6 months or whatever it is package but my $65 per every 3 months gets me the best of Sirius- since I gotta have the NFL channels, Howard and among others: since our radios are XM based and not Sirius based. Plus I get the ability to rewind, and have App access to play my subscription in my big truck from my phone.
