Good day, I am new here and about to get 4 inch lift on my 2012 ram 1500! - so excited.
The question is: can I put coil springs and longer shocks in the front instead of blocks that comes with it?? Is this possible? I mean it sounds pretty possible to me... but haven't seen anyone trying it lol.
Also what would be the advantages of doing so? Softer ride?

what kind of shocks do you guys recommend for shocks?? I was thinking bilstein 5100 for the front and just leave the nitro shocks in the back... I use my truck everyday and would like to keep factory ride quality.

If I get 4" lift and 3" coil springs in the back, will I have the rake in the front? Do I need adjustable shocks?

Not sure what blocks you are talking about ... Mine is a 2012 with a Zone 4”F/3”R with Bils at 1.4” on 35’s with 0 offset 20” X 9”08cd7d69ced5657e3abbd5edda63936c.jpg

I meant the front strut spacers. Instead of putting them on, I wanted to see if I could get longer front coil springs and longer struts to fit the 4" lift.

There are a few ways to achieve that. The best way would be to do the fox coilovers for the 4”-6” lift. Set up the coilovers for a 4” lift and do the 3” rear springs. You will have a complete suspension lift with no blocks or spacers of anykind. Hit up @Nick@GotExhaust and he can set you up with exactly what you need. His customer service is top notch

The spacers are for the 6” lift ... No spacers with the 4”

They use a 4” spacer in the front on top of the strut. The 6” uses a 5” spacer and a strut preload spacer unless ordered with longer struts

Hmmm ... OK ... All I can tell you is the shop installed the 4” kit as purchased with the Bils at 1.4” ... Rides great ... No issues with alignment ... 4 years later, no issues

Thanks guys. I think instead of trying to find coil springs for the front, I'm just gonna stick with bilstiens.

How much was your installation? The shop I'm taking, is selling the parts for 1380 and 500 for labor and alignment. Does that sound about right??

That's a good deal. Most shops are $800-$1,000 for install and alignment.

Great looking truck! I love the oversized look with the factory offset. Makes it look clean to me. Not too tall but just right.
