It could be a connector, a body control module glitch or possibly a short in the harness.

My 13 Laramie longhorn is currently doing the same thing, my dealer checked all connections and they told me there is short in the cluster itself. Currently waiting for my new one. I hope this isn’t your case because I’m dropping about $1200 to fix!

They basically told me the cluster has an internal fault and needed replaced. My cluster has now completely quit, my new one is on its way according to the dealer

I was quoted $1200 and approximately 4.5 hours for the install and programming.

Are you serious? The programming cant possibly take 4 hours to do right? Swapping the actual cluster only takes a few minutes.

I have a 2013 truck also with the 7 inch screen. Looking over the years at posts, is a common problem on 2013 trucks, they were redesigned after that to fix issue, but other years without this issue are not compatible with some features.

What if the rest on my cluster works well do you think it comes with a short in just the digital screen or will I need to replace the whole cluster

Mine was flickering on and off and I was told it was an internal fault. I got it replaced and it costed me $860.

Yea op your dealer is crazy, FYI this is a super common mod for gen4 owners - upgrading their evic to the nicer lcd screens, check the diy side of the gen4 forum - buy a used evic for a few hundred in the classified section, reprogram with alfaobd - hours and mileage and swap it yourself for like 1/2 price.

Pretty sure there are stickies on this mod in the diy section - it is that popular, no way it's 4 hrs lol

Do you guys think if I take it in the dealer for a diagnostic they’ll tell me what it is?

Yea $150 for diagnostic, then close to $1k to tell you your evic needs to be replaced. I'd check the diy forum, take the evic out and check the connections and try again
