Delivery Delays on New Trucks

I ordered my 2021 Limited Longhorn April 10, got the build sheet on May 26, and window sticker on the 28th. Any way to track it in transit?

I don't know if there's a way for the buyer to track it but there is a website that the dealer can use to track it. Mine was good about texting me updates about where it was at.

I have had my Vin for about 6 plus weeks for my 3500 HO. So I am into my 4th month now. Dealer says truck is built with the exception of chips.. thank goodness we are not in a panic... I am thinking that we are in too far with covid for that to be used as a. excuse..

Dealer mode? Sounds like a broken AC and that wouldn't surprise me one bit. These new Rams are lemons

I was thinking about ordering my next truck but I’ll wait for abit now. Question though. If your ordering a new truck and it’s on its way, in the real world, hoe does this whole process work? I’d have my current ram as a part of the deal and see some that are already on contract. Do you still drive your own truck or trade while your new trucks on its way? Should something happen to your current Ram and get into an accident totally your trade. What would happen at that point? Again I’m just curious as to how this whole process works?

Your dealer will probably give you an estimated trade value at the time you place your order subject to change once your new vehicle arrives. So, if you rack up a bunch of miles while waiting, or it gets hit or something, the value will obviously diminish and your trade will reflect that.

I kept driving my truck while waiting on delivery to the dealer, racked up almost 2k more miles and had no change in trade-in value.

When the dealer gave me the estimated trade-in value, I asked how many miles before that number changed and explained that it was my daily driver.

You won't be the first person to have this discussion with the dealer!

Same with me. Dealer let me keep my truck for the 3 weeks I was waiting on mine to come in and I put 1,000 miles on it. We had already agreed on the price for my truck and theirs and signed the paperwork. The mileage didn't change anything. Heck, they didn't even drive my truck before they agreed on the price.

My dealer gave me an estimated trade in value when I was looking to order. When I mentioned that I might just buy off the lot the trade in value went up by $2k. When I asked why they explained how the estimated trade in value works, and that they couldn't give me a solid value because of mileage and condition changes in the 2-3 months it would take to build the truck.

I ordered a quad-cab Rebel on March 27 and just got a build sheet on May 30, nine weeks and 1 day. No Sticker yet. Just wondering, does the build sheet mean it has been built, or is it still awaiting build and the sheet just tells them what to put in?

I drive for my local Chrysler dealer and have been sent to pick up dealer trades, new vechicals, and auto auctions. They should be able to have someone pick up tour truck from the rail yard.

They were about to do just that. Dealer called and told me they were going to send a driver to get it but the truck ended up being delivered to the dealership the next day, early that morning about 8:00. They had a driver deliver it to my house, about 90 miles away that same afternoon.

Get online, go to RAM customer service and start a chat session with a customer service rep. Give them your VIN and they can give you a ETA for your vehicle.

I went from build sheet to 'on it's way' in about 7 days. I ordered 4/2 and delivery is expected next week (at latest).

I ordered my 2021 Mega Cab 3500 Laramie on 4/19. 5/24 dealer called and said it was built and staged to be shipped. On 5/26 I was able to see my window sticker. But it didn’t say built for me on it like I thought it would. But my vin matched and all the build options matched as well. I talked to ram care today 6/4 and they told me it was in transport to dealer. And eta on arrival at dealer was 6/14. That’s exactly 3 weeks from when it was built and came off the assembly line and it didn’t have to go to outside vendors for anything. I wouldn’t think it would take 3 weeks to travel from Saltillo Mexico to Kentucky. But apparently it does and maybe the driver shortage is why. Not sure tho.

When I signed the paperwork on my truck it had already made it to Louisiana from Mexico. I thought it wouldn't take but a couple of days to reach the RR hub in Georgia from there but it ended up taking a week and a half. Sat at the hub for about 2 weeks after that before it finally made it to the dealer.

Wow... a column shifter. I would love to have that. I hate that freakin' roulette wheel they put in my 1500.
