So I'm currently rebuilding my 5.7. I know a dyno would be best to get numbers but don't have one local so figured someone might have a similar set up or know what I can expect .
Complete rebuild
Ported heads ,valve job,new beehive springs 26918, comp 7914 push rods, comp cam 260,volant intake, bbk shorty headers, 85mm bbk TB,Diablo tuner, custom tune

Took the expensive route lol....you could've used OEM 6.1 hemi exhaust springs and a set of 6.1 pushrods (cheap and strong) and saved some $$ (I guess it was a kit?). TB is a waste of $$, even with a cam your pre-eagle will not outflow an SRT 392 and it uses the same size factory TB. The intake will get you noise. 260 is a good truck/torque cam. Crank wise this combo will probably get around the neighborhood of 380 hp or so, at the wheels will vary with dyno used and the fact that the RFE trans is a power leech.

Yea cam and spring kit were bundled together about 700 the push rods believe were same ballpark as the 6.1 rods , was going to go with a fastman tb but he hasn't been taking orders l. Was looking at intake manifold swaps but didn't think they would make a big difference. I'm thinking down the rod a full cat back exhaust but haven't done any research on one yet

Clarifying that this is for your 2005; intake manifold swap would also require accessory drive relocation/alteration, as ALL other factory hemi manifolds have a TB exit out the front of some sort (right where the AC comp & alt are). The only manifold shown to clear is the high ram and it's a top end/boost manifold; aint near enough head, compression or cam to really work well with it. Catbacks just give looks and sound. Where exhaust mods really help are headers and getting rid of that awful factory Y pipe.

Sorry to interrupt, why not intake as well? I'll be the first to admit, my knowledge on engines is always looking to be upgraded. I personally was looking at a Comp Cams beehive kit (currently just under $400 on Amazon).

You mean 6.1 intake springs? Because the 6.1 has different height intake & exhaust springs. The 6.1 exhaust springs are the same height as the pre-eagle 5.7 springs. That was the beautiful thing, they were usually more than sufficient and relatively cheap, especially compared to aftermarket springs (at the time at least, not sure about now). That was the old days upgrade for cams (fairly sure this list is probably still posted on this site somewhere):
Your cam of choice (I still have an old KRC 210 sitting in the garage)
16 6.1 exhaust springs
Full set of 6.1 I&E pushrods because aftermarket pre-VVT cams use the 6.1 base circle, which is different than the 5.7's
6.1 oil pump
6.1 timing chain

Ahh, good to know, I thought all that were being replaced were the 8 exhaust springs.

Tonyt2293, if I highjacked your thread, I am sorry, I just had to know the why for the exhaust springs. I am sure there are other like-minded folks with the same question, I just beat them to it. :)

Yep. here it is, all the way back to 2012 (some forums the sticky goes back to like 2006): https://www.ramforum.com/threads/cam-parts-list.16607/

No worries can't learn if we don't ask questions.
Been researching heads for the pre eagle would like more flow but swaping eagle heads on a pre eagle block seems like to much work lol

Don't discount pre-eagle heads. Put bigger valves in them matched with the right cam & supporting mods and they'll launch a quad cab into the 12's.
