The starter switch under the carpet reminds me of the old Dodge and Fargo trucks, starter button just above the throttle , My 47 chev was the same.
Dad's old Buick you stomped the gas peddle to start.
My 67 Imperial had 2 switches where HI Low beam was on the floor, one switch ran the auto radio selector, also had a doodad on the dash that was auto head lights.
But I digress
