All I know is the stock nexens my 3500 had on it ,only lasted 14k miles before they had belt separation failures on both front tires.

Yes, and there have been many others who also mentioned problems. And, it's why I became alarmed when I spotted that chunk of sidewall missing. Yes, I did over-react, but I don't deserve the tongue lashing I got from a couple of posters. It just didn't seem possible that that damage occurred when the tire was dismounted for the very first time. But, now I see that that is what likely happened.

While tire manufacturers don't recommend using tire repair methods on sidewalls, I'm pretty sure that there aren't any laws preventing it. I wouldn't do it...But no one is going to jail for taking that risk.
You are correct, there is no specific law against it. But I have never run into a repair shop that would do it.

Yes, yes you do. You were condescending and rude to people freely providing their responses to your question. You absolutely deserve what you got.

And, I suppose you are perfect in all your ways. In all that you do and say.

You could just apologize for being condescending, but it's easier to deflect to avoid our own faults.

I was even being nice about it. If I wanted to be condescending I'd say something like "Boomers shouldn't be allowed to use keyboards unsupervised" or bring up how you made a ton of threads about a 2023 asking repetitive questions and were befuddled by the fact that FCA isn't Burger King and won't make your exact specifications...and then after all that build up and talk didn't even buy one.

You generally don't go out of your way to be a ****, so I haven't put you on ignore like half the other addled Boomers who post on here between their stories and yelling at strangers on Facebook, but you've been a **** here. You're response to *very mild criticism* as a *tongue lashing* is just more over the top nonsense. Eat your pudding and put our stories on.

Read my opening post
I just did.
So why did you keep the old tires? You changed them in Feb. Didn't the tire shop get rid of them for you ?
You took it to show the dealer, but believe me, no one knows how crappy Nexen's are more than the dealer.

Just my 2 cents but why, when we are spending 60-100 K for an American truck are we getting Chinese tires? Chinese tires are known to be junk but the manufactures want cheap so they pass it down to us the consumers. My recommendation, and again mine, would be just plan on replacing the tires and pay for a proper alignment and just figure it into the cost of your new truck.

That is pretty much what I did.
My first encounter with Nexen brand was with my '17. They wore out faster than....I got maybe 30,000 out of them. I was used to my previous Silverado that came with Bridgestone Duravis. 60-70,000 out of them. I was spoiled.
Then I buy my '20 Ram and couldn't believe the Nexen's were on it again.
I just figured burn them up and I will be buying 6 new tires before 30,000, which I did.

Yes, those Bridgestone's are the way to go. Have all 6 of them on my Laramie now. With stone-ejection design they have yet to pick up any stones!

Bridgestone did have major issues back then but have since righted the ship. That's the way, ebb and flow of industry

2022 Pirelli came on my Eco-Diesel. At 32,000 two developed a very slow leak. Couldn’t find a puncture but did find the edge of the tread to sidewall was coming apart both inside by a long seam crack and outside by ability to see cord. Dealer waffled, said get new tires. Potbellied would not work with me.

Anyone else have this same issue?

Do you always assume the role of victim? You clearly don't realize it is you who should apologize to a few of the members here.
I'll ignore that comment.

This Boomer knows that most major manufacturers have plants in China and the tires are made to spec per the manufacturer. China has over a billion people who have bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trucks, heavy equipment and aircraft that use tires made in their factories. Most tire companies make good, middle and crummy tires, Goodyear the American company is a prime example. Firestone has a history of duds back when it was American owned. Nexen may not make great truck tires but their passenger car tires are a good value IMHO. I personally have Venom E rated tires on my 1500 and they have been outstanding and are wearing better than expected for a 50k tire. They are made in Thailand. Tires are like people, they all start out fresh and end up old.

The OEM Firestones that came on my 2500 were absolute garbage. I just replaced them at 13,966 miles. Two tires were worn to the treadwear bars and the other two had decent tread left but the sidewalls were starting to crack. I rotated them at 7500 miles, which is what the book specifies. I replaced them with Michelin Defenders. I thought about submitting a warranty claim through Firestone, but I didn't want them to replace the tires with the same ****** tires. I just sucked it up and bought new tires. Shouldn't have had to, but that seems to be how things go these days.

American branded, Mexican built with parts from around the world. More than likely there’s more than just Chinese tires on these trucks. Hell even my old Nissan Titan was built here in Ms.
