They do occassionally crack/break especially if you live where they salt the roads in the winter. If your truck is a 4X4 you're pretty well stuck with replacing it with another OEM bar,as i've never found an aftermarket front swaybar for the 4X4's.My front sway bar cracked at the link on the passenger side, anyone else have the problem?
I have heard this too. But saying it out loud here has caused some guys to freak out lol. One of my buddies removed his, which is documented here tossed it well over a year ago and doesn't miss it.Drive a few weeks without one. I bet You'll never want to put one back on.

Hellwig offered the explanation that they couldn't improve on the OEM front sway for the Ram 1500 4X4 (Gen4 trucks), that's why they didn't offer one.If your truck is a 4X4 you're pretty well stuck with replacing it with another OEM bar,as i've never found an aftermarket front swaybar for the 4X4's
Never knew that. Was always curious why we couldn't get matching front sway bars.Hellwig offered the explanation that they couldn't improve on the OEM front sway for the Ram 1500 4X4 (Gen4 trucks), that's why they didn't offer one.
Making a sway bar too stiff can greatly effect steering/handling.
They was a page on their website that stated that, but I couldn't find it.Never knew that. Was always curious why we couldn't get matching front sway bars.
I seen that page years ago to Crash, and i went looking for it again, and couldn't find it either.Supposedly there's 2 differant OEM front swaybars, with 1 being a bit bigger diameter. It's been years since i was looking into the front bar,so don't quote me on this, but i think 1 bar is 31mm and the other bar is 33mm's,but i could have those measurements wrong,as alzhiemers kicks in every once inawhileThey was a page on their website that stated that, but I couldn't find it.
I'm guessing somewhere buried where it won't see the light of day, Hellwig is the OEM supplier but it's contractual that they won't offer a "replacement" version.
There's a lot of aftermarket companies that make parts and do work for the auto companies but that's all sealed with NDAs
