I'm not a fan of the PacBrake kit,i run a modified Transdapt dual filter set up.My oil pressures went up by a couple psi over the stock set-up,using the dual filter set-up,i also got it with the older 3/4-16 thread pitch nipple$,that allows me to run alot bigger filter. I run the old style 30-8A filters, which are noticably larger then the stock filter,or the filter you can run on the PacBrake kit
Thats such a nice setup!!

I originally started with a single set-up,then upgraded it to the dual set-up,and that's when i picked up more oil pressure. If i was doing a remote filter set-up,i'd only go with a dual set-up after my experiences with the single set-up.

I most likely know the answer but did it lower oil temps at all?

Is this the kit you have?

This is the basic kit,but i upgraded the hoses and fittings to -10 / 5/8" . It dropped my oil temps by a fair bit. With a 180 engine thermostat,my oil temps run between 195 and 200 when beating on the truck, just cruising down the road they run around 190 / 192.
I took a die grinder and basically cleaned up all the sharp edges on the holes,as sharp corners and oil flow don't go together worth a crap, lol
Any local farm implement dealer can build you bigger hoses that'll handle 2,000+ psi.

It will definately fit a 2014 1500. Its a pain the first time but once you get it you will say "ohh okay thats not so bad"
I was at Canadian Tire just looking at the filters just to compare. Stock to RP 20-820 Fram equivalant. The stock size really is quite small, as has been mentioned many times over on this thread, and forum.

So the 20-820 may not actually fit?? I was about to order a bunch of them from RP direct.

@Buddy, I have a 2014 5.7L 1500. I had a RP 20-820 installed at my last oil change.
My local shop did the work so I can't say whether or not it was a pain, but I had all the oil and 2 different filters in a box when I dropped it off.
Let them know I wanted the 20-820 as 1st priority and that's what they used. This was 12/19/23 and it's been almost 1,000 miles since. I've heard the stock filter is a pain due to location.

Well I guess I will order up some 20-820 filters then.
I was looking at the K&N filters as well, but with the nut on the bottom being an extra piece on them, I will stay with going with RP ones.

The Royal Purple 20-500 will not fit my 2017 5.7, it's "to tall"/long.

There are no issues installing/using the Royal Purple 20-820 on my HEMI.

Also, fwiw I use Red Line 5w/30 year round (Louisiana) and all is good.

I actually grabbed 3 5L jugs of PUP 5W30 today at CT. $41.99 CAD / jug. ($31.19 US).
I had RL in my sights, but as Wild one said, hard to argue with the price of PUP on sale.
I've been buying my LubeGard engine protectant from these guys in Edmonton, but i think Dean2 found it on amazon or ebay for close to the same price as CanWest.

Kirkland oil looks like good stuff...

Today.

Who knows who they spec & bid to tomorrow? I don't trust their Interstate Batteries, either.

Read an article on them, Interstate is just a holding company for any battery maker under the sun - literally. China, USA, Mexico, you name it. AND - different Costco Stores get different Interstate batteries from different plants around the world.

Might be an MBA case study in how to globally source lowest cost product, but not for me for a critical vehicle performance part. Laundry detergent and diapers might be fine.

Gasoline is different - all retail outlets pull base gas from the regional tank farm - not globally. So buying gas @ Costco is fine, they advertise Top Tier additive levels.

But you really gotta watch Costco on other things. They aren't the holy grail of all product lines. And yes, I'm a Costco Member.
