I have a 2017 Sport 1500 with OEM LED interior lighting. I want to replace them. Is there any aftermarket up grade kits to replace the light sockets and bulbs? The map lights and rear seat lights are hard wired in and are not just a pop out pop in replacement system.

If I remember correctly behind the map lights is a normal 192 bulb socket but the reflector will be missing if you remove the LED. It would be relatively easy to just swap to the Non-LED housing which has a different reflector and lens.

I pulled the OEM LED circuit boards from the footwells and under the seat of my mega cab (not sure if the crew cab underseat lighting is the same) and this is what I found. Once I identify what size the SMD leds are ill order them and replace all 4 and report back with how they look. They may not be "brighter" specifically since the resistor value doesn't change and the voltage drop on a warm white/cool white led is the same, but the cooler temp may 'appear' brighter to the eye. We shall see.

Also to piggyback what crash68 and Sitkneelbend stated, here's a picture of the factory LED in the overhead console/map lights. Was relatively easy to replace with no special tools besides a knife used. I replaced the chrome reflectors as to not have an empty looking pocket, but had to remove the diffusers off the reflectors for the LED to fit thru. These were just some cheap LEDs I had laying around, I will be ordering different ones with more focus on the top of the led rather than the sides since the sides are useless.
