Looking for a good Jeep Grand Cherokee Thread

Oh yes...but if I still had it, not sure I'd part with it unless another was in the running. Crazy value spikes right now. Just crazy...

    Exterior kind of boring

Wondering if you're "feeling" like the style is mundane because you see so many of them on the road? If that's the problem, no popular mass made machine is gonna satisfy more than a couple years at a time. I see more RAM Gen 4 creative varieties than just about anything else on the road. Make...

ram 8.4 radio problems, how do i contact ram cares

800-521-2779 You can google "RAM Cares" for a website, too. I used this number to get my 2018 radio swapped out back in January. They know well of this issue (they won't say that out loud). Make sure to tell them it is malfunctioning and disabling controls as well as ghost entries...

Great looking resto-rig! Had a '74 CJ-5 for a few years that was like a good running buddy. Tons of fun in that thing...

Looking for a good Jeep Grand Cherokee Thread

I have the OBDLink from my days with my Ram 1500. Was a fantastic tool for any modifications and more. Yet to try it on this JGC. Was hoping somewhere was a JGC group running good talk on the use. There's a couple of sites I've found but much less "traveled" or developed from what I've seen...

Looking for a good Jeep Grand Cherokee Thread

Picked up a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee this month. Having trouble finding a deep running forum like this one...I think I'm spoiled. Wanting to see what's possible with Alpha-OBD (so far the couple forums I checked barely know about it) and just good running dialogue on the vehicle. Anyone here...

Question regarding current used vehicle market sales

You can get a great idea daily on values (private sell, trade, etc) by going online and running thru KBB, Edmunds, Carvana, and Carmax, etc. I've sold 2 vehicles this year (1 traded in and 1 sold outright (my beloved Ram)). Carmax tends to offer the most on cash offer and is all of a 1 hour...

Trade is high. Just ordered a new wagon.

For now, I'll take that as good news for us on the seller side with the pricing...thanks.

Trade is high. Just ordered a new wagon.

What's the current thinking on how long the bubble holds? I know that's the Captain Obvious magic question. Just looking for what the forecasted thoughts are. I'd like to keep mine til July for some projects but not sure values will hold that many weeks. I'm gonna let my '18 1500 go, take...

Any of y'all getting offers to buy your late model trucks?

Just posted this another thread that touched on the subject... I've been getting a hard pull to sell my much loved 2018 the last couple of months. Love my truck but many competing priorities. And, just started a new job and wouldn't you know it, I got a company car in the driveway now to push...

    Maybe time to sell?

Although already repeating sentiments of many: Wind at your back Ed F on this path. That applies to the other folks responding with similar walks, too. I've been getting a hard pull to sell my much loved 2018 the last couple of months. Just started a new job and wouldn't you know it, I got a...

No power, key stuck in ignition, wont shift out of park, truck is locked down... help!

Not contributing anything new here: I'd be all over that battery with a jumpstart. Bad voltage does really screwy things to these vehicles nowadays. After counting that out, start tracking from the battery forward on where else the power is getting lost...but start at that battery including...

Who has experience with the 4Runner?

As I was reading your post, was already making ready to to tell ya to hit some 4Runner forums. I'd recommend throwing out there that you're looking at the 18-19 models and curious what the weaknesses may be or what to watch for on specific maintenance items to those. A simple question with a...

    Windshield Wiper Chatter

It was years ago I tried RainX and used the "Elbow Grease" version. It did a great job of beading and deflecting water as claimed. But I always fought with a foggy film. Sometimes just a nuisance quarter second of glaze after the wiper pass. Other times, a constant film that got downright...

    Schaeffer's 5W20 Full Synthetic Oil

I ran one rotation of Shaeffer's back late 2019. Seemed okay but I think I had maybe a couple extra start-up tick events more with it compared to using RedLine. If forced to choose, the RedLine has run quieter and smoother IMO. But again, I only gave the Scheffer's one round.

    Optional Oil Filter?

Amazon is out of the 10-48 but I planned to move to the bigger one anyway with this next oil change. Noticed on Amazon it doesn't list the 20-820 as a legit fit for my 2018. (Not that they're the great reference for parts that fit.)

    Best A/T Tire

As mentioned, lots of opinions especially with everyone having some different priorities on preference. FWIW, Continental A/T has served me well the first 5k miles for a slightly more aggressive tire and surprisingly good smooth ride. And that's coming from a diehard Michelin guy...which are...

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Blocked like this sure...but then just cut away some beveled portions of foam at the vents allowing air flow. (FOr those with the vents in place of course.)

    Vibes at highway speeds

Resurrecting this thread a bit... After 5k miles on a new set of tires, I had a persistent shake at 65 to 75. Thought I was gonna be headed for a long road of grappling with this. Took the truck back to Discount Tire yesterday to start the "fight" for a fix, guy handed the keys back to me 20...

So....I Might Have Done A Thing Today....

Very nice ride! (I'd write more but I'm heading down to local Ram dealer so I can "look around" and see if anyone will throw a 2020 at me...)

A/T tire recommendation with leveling kit?

Continental Terrain Contact A/T have been outstanding the first 3500 miles on my 4th gen. Incredibly quiet for AT. I'm typically a Michelin guy with high expectations...very happy with these so far and consider them an equal.

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Thanks for the follow up. They're on sale right now, too. Making it tough to turn away... I have to do my required overthinking hours on it before pulling the trigger...may just end up giving them a shot. Thanks again!

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Couple of quick questions on these: - Did you have to use an adapter for the CANBUS system? (Or adjust via AlphaOBD, etc)? - How good do the yellow beams seem to be? Effective or just a fun change?
