I feel a little stuck in the middle with this subject. I purchased the lifetime warranty for my '18 1500 just before they stopped selling it. I'm currently sitting at a little over 100k miles and haven't had any trans issues (hopefully putting it here doesn't jinx it!). I'm afraid that since...
Exactly what Atcer2018 said. It’s becomes delaminated over time. My 2018 got gradually worse until it was unusable. FCA replaced the head unit under my lifetime warranty.
Do you ever sneak out to see what it’s up to in the middle of the night? it sounds like you got a Decepticon. Time to trade it in for an Autobot lol
in all seriousness, though, I hope you’re able to get it figured it out. I’d be afraid to drive it around, especially at highway speeds.
Since I have the lifetime warranty, I’ll be driving mine until the cost of the repair outweighs the value of the truck. At 78k she’s still going strong so hopefully I won’t need any serious work for a long time.
I had similar damage to my bed and a little to the rear door like yours. They replaced the side panel on the bed and repaired the door. It was just over $5k total. Too much to pay out of pocket so I ended up filing a claim and insurance handled.
I hope you’re right! The fence is one of those white plastic ones. I was so tired I just figured I scraped it a little and it would give if I kept going. Aaannndddd I was wrong lol
Thanks for the input. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that hammer/bondo is an option. Not too concerned about it looking perfect or anything, especially for 7 grand!
That’s around what I was thinking. I’m pretty sure they can pull that out and fix up the paint. I’m in central Tx but $2-3k I think would be reasonable. I have Maxcare warranty so I guess I’ll need to go to one of the 3 approved body shops here just to keep that from biting me later.
After a long day at work I was not paying attention when pulling into my driveway. There’s a fence that runs along side of it and like an idiot I cut in too sharp and knocked the hell out of the corner post. Does anyone have an idea of what I can expect money-wise for body/paint repair work?
I got lucky finding mine. It was an Enterprise fleet truck with less than 12k miles. ‘18 Laramie CC 5.7L. I didn’t realize how rare they were until after I got it and noticed most CC beds were shorter. I love it and wouldn’t go for a shorter bed now that I’ve had this one.
Interesting. I just got an iPhone 11 this weekend and haven’t tried CarPlay with sound on in Google Maps. I’ll have to try that later today and see if mine does the same as yours. My old phone (6s) did like yours used to. It would lower the radio when Maps audio would come through. I’ll let you...
When you say hold it in up and down positions, are you saying to hold it all the way down and all the way up to where the auto feature would kick in? Or is it just down and up enough to where the window lowers/raises but the auto feature doesn’t kick in? My auto feature has quit working twice...
It’s a pretty common experience with our trucks. Some have greased the splines while others have gotten full blown transmission overhauls. Mine has done it since I got it 2yrs ago with 12k miles on it. My transmission has been “relearned” a couple of times but it’s still there. I don’t like the...
Way overpriced. I found an ‘18 Laramie 5.7, 6’4” bed with under 12k miles back in July ‘18 for $32.5. I guarantee there’s much better deals out there than the one you’re looking at. If pricing in your area is reflective of this truck, you would be well served to extend your search radius and...
The middle of the seat and the seat-back sections (where your butt and back make contact) are leather. The outer sides and backs are vinyl. At least that’s how they are in an ‘18 Laramie. I would imagine it’s the same in 5th Gens.
Gee
Geezus man, there must have been a retirement party or something the night before they built your truck. Sounds like everyone was hung over and just slapping shit together. Sorry for all of your troubles!
Very similar to my situation. My driveway is about a 40 degree slope from the street, then my street is about a 1/8 mile 25 degree downslope to the next road. I use the brake to keep speed around 12mph. Depending on how long I let the truck warm up and the outside temp, I’ll stay in 1st gear...
