03 4.7 to a 04 5.7

I have 2 2004 rams with hemi’s one is regular cab 4x4 and the other is 4 door 2wd that I bought as a donor. Anyways I have searched and looked all over I see a lot of people putting hemis into 02 model trucks. Ok all trucks have a 4 plug at computer. I got my son a 2003 ram 4.7 4 door with a bad motor. We got it out and trying to figure out if putting a hemi from one of the other trucks will be pretty simple. Will I need to swap out harness and computer or will the 4 plug in the 4.7 work thanks

Simple no. Need to swap harness, PCM, pedal assembly and quite possibly TIPM at minimum, unless you plan to literally remove the wiring guts of the 03 to intall the same from the 04. Having a complete donor truck does make it easier though.

Thanks. So should be able to just slap in all wiring from the 04 extended cab hemi into the 03 extended cab then slap in my hemi from my 04 regular cab since the 04 hemi in extended cab is supposed to have a knock so that engine will be a spare to rob from... thanks

What all 4.7 year model engines can work in the 2003 model. Been thinking about just getting one rather than doing all the swapping ? I have found 1 out of a 2003 Durango with only 40k miles and 1 out of a 2007 ram that’s pretty close to me.. Thanks
