These are all quotes from "Workin". Apparently its an easy mod on the 06-08 models. The Sport or Laramie cover basically slides right over with no issues.

a sport bumber skin will go over the stock chrome bumber, with ( no modifications ). simply remove the top half of the old bumber.
the only thing that will show is the rounded ends on the smaller grille opening, and if you use a billet insert there, it will never show.
