07 tail lamp replacement

So my son ran into my 07 dodge ram 1500 quad cab with his crappy chevy silverado and broke my tail light assembly. I have been looking online for a replacement but want to make sure that it is the correct part. original part number is 55277303AA all the replacements parts I see online are replacements for a 55277303AC. They look to be the same but was wondering how the "C" at the end differs from the "A" and weather the style or coloring may be off a little that would call for the replace of both assemblies instead of just the one.

Evolution of the part number. As long as every number preceding it is the same you're good.
