08' 4.7s Special?

Are the 08' 4.7L Cats special only to that make/model? One of the guys in my office has an 08' 4x4 4.7L ram, and the dealer/shop he took it to said there wasnt a catalytic converter available in the US for his truck because they were special. I find it very hard to believe that his year and engine require that special of a cat and for only that year.

Wrong section, but I did a quick check of Rockauto and found nothing in the way of cats on that page.

Haven't checked Summit or Amazon but I'd wager that if Rockauto doesn't have it there is something up.

I looked at partstrain and they have some that will fit. Looks like the difference may be they have long tubes coming from the cat instead of little bungs for the emissions connectors.

buy are the cats themselves different? and only specific to that year like he is being told? I can't believe they are only good for that year.
